The 2012 Tokyo Bay Area Cup season starts off this weekend! The Bay Area Cups 3on3 tournaments are unique in that teams made at the beginning of the season remains the same at the end of the season. At the end of the season, there is a Climax Series to determine the best team overall. Tourney begins February 26th, 1PM JST on: Newton Live.

Preliminary League 1 (Sound Bad) / Preliminary League Part 2 / Playoff 1 / Playoff 2 / Final Tournament

Only 11 Kakutou Shinseiki VI (KSVI) Preliminary Qualifiers are left and 2 qualifiers that will be streamed! The VF.TV Live Channel will be streaming the qualifier at Hyogo Prefecture on February 26th, 2012 at 4pm JST.

Gamespot's On the Spot February 23rd show have an interview with Patrick Riley (Syzygy on VFDC), a Producer on the console version.

According to the Sega Blog Story, Patrick will be discussing the console features and will be showing off the actual game running on the Xbox360 and/or PS3.

Battle Audition 4th Season will end this weekend with the Final Battle Audition - Road to Kakutou Shinseiki VI event!

In the Trial Leagues, eight challengers (name in white) will compete against the "Ten Great Fighters" (Toushi Juu Ketsu) to determine the new Star Players (name in yellow). To determine the new ranks amongst the Star Players, the new Star Players will then compete with the "Three Champions" (San Toushi) Tomarion and Fullswing in the Star Player League (Fuudo will be unable to participate in the event).

This event will be at the AOU event and is expected to run from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM JST, February 18, 2012. Trial League starts at 11:00 AM JST and the Star Player League at 1:15 PM JST. This event will be streamed live on not just one VF.TV Live channel but four!; Sega has made a specific website to display all four channels simultaneously (AOU12-Sega.com). Stay tune to VFDC for the most up-to-date information on the event!

The Railway Series eighth 3on3 team point ranking battle of the 13th VFR season. The tournament starts February 18th at 6 PM JST. This event is expected to be streamed either on VFRTV channel or Nistel Jacky's Channel.

The 2nd VFR Cup Seed Trial Battle, a 5on5 tournament will be held on Feb 12, 2012 at 12 PM JST. Unlike the Newton Cup, which feature mainly teams in the Kantou region, the Shinsei Cup is attended by teams in the Kantou, Kansai, and "Mid/North" regions of Japan.

The event will be streamed on Jimokuji TV.

The first Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown tournament outside of Japan will begin February 10th, 7 PM PST, in San Francisco, CA at South Town Arcade! If you are still thinking of attending the event, check South Town Arcade website for more details or the original thread in the Tournaments and Events Section.

If you can not make it or just want to show your support, the tournament will be streamed by Iplaywinner!

For the fifth weekend of Kakutou Shinseiki VI (KSVI) Preliminary Qualifiers, the VF.TV Live Channel will be streaming the 2nd qualifier within the Aichi Prefecture on February 11th, 2012 at 2pm JST. For next week, there will not be a KSVI qualifier stream; however the Final Battle Audition will likely be streamed!
