I am going to play on PS3.

    1) 360 D-Pad is horrible, doubly so for fighters. PS3 controller is much more precise.

    2) Online play is free on PSN. I need that $60 to buy both DLC packs on Day 1.

You're just the man that I've been looking for. I have been in love with VF for years but in my part of the country no one plays it, so I have been starved of human competition.

Edit: By the way you can put your PSN ID and XBL gamertag under your gamertag.

Just to ask... Is there a difference with VF5FS's XBOX360 version with that of PS3's?

No, just upscaling on the 360 in 1080p. While the PS3 remains at the native resolution of 720p.

So maybe we could create 2 topics one for PSN and one for X360, where people could post their PSN ids and region or even better country they will play from ?

Considering we can modify posts after people replay to them we could have the lists in first posts of the topics.

This way we could create lists for easier adding people or just so that people could take a look at the list and send an invite to the game to person close to them geographically - something like that.

Do not want to create too much topics and spam the forum though so if people find this not so good idea I understand.

I'll be getting it on both, but I'll most likely be playing it more on PS3 since that is my system of choice for playing fighting games.

If you have a game that runs at 720p but your 360 is set to 1080p then the 360 will upscale the game, don't think the PS3 does this.

You can put your gamertags for XBL and PSN, as well as your location under your username on this site, so we don't need lists of gamertags...unless they are attached to a graph of a map. For instance if you could click on a country or state and pull up a list of all the VFDC members in that state or country.

The 360 has a fantastic scaler chip. While the PS3 doesn't. Mined you, Most of this high def games are native in 720p, like VF5FS. So no big deal. The cool thing about the scaler chip is that you see 5% more of the image. Here's an example....

    720p(PS3 Example)

    1080p(XBOX 360 Upscale)

Look at Ryu's feet. See how much room he has in 1080p, same with the character portraits. You could see that nice brush strokes. As you can see. There was no altering of the lifebars at all. I'll post more in a few of different fighters form my tv and games. Those pictures are not mine, they're from a fellow gaffer. Once again, no big deal. But I do enjoy the extra image [IMG] on the 360...

Do fighting games (or games in general) run any smoother when one turns their Xbox resolution settings down to 720p?

I think there are cases where the upscaling has caused some slight lag (minor compared to what certain TVs will cause). To be sure I think the display settings should be set to 720p (to avoid upscaling)

    Update to what I once posted in this thread;
I will still get VF5FS on both consoles, but in the beginning I think Ill favor ps3 side, becase majority of Finnish fighting game players play on PS3 and I want to give them good impression on the game. Ill try to play on both consoles though.

    I see, thanks.

Cause I read somewhere that the screen has less motion blur and lag due to the Xbox trying to keep up those high settings. And it just runs smoother when it doesn't have to do/keep up with all that. Just thought i'd ask since some 720 and 1080p talk was going on [IMG]

On VF5, I never notice any lag on 1080p. On SCV, slight lag. I always have the 360 on 720p just to avoid any issue. But if VF5FS runs fine in 1080p, I'll go with that. BTW, I'm getting it for consoles as well....

Ps3 here. I'm just worried with the lag. Because i'm pretty much sure almost no one from my country plays VF, so i have to play with people from other countries...every time i play SF with some American player, the lag is too much.

The netcode from SF is terrible. There are times where i can play people from far well... there are a good amount of times i can play with people outside the US and i get better connections.

PS3, since it's the only 'current gen' system I own. Fingers crossed the netcode will be great.
