Sorry, I had to go to LA this weekend (which is where I'm at now), so I couldn't go to NY.

Will there be replays of the matches? It would be awesome if there were replays of these vets duking it out.

I have to admit, adamYUKI was a close second until I realized he was in hospital, he was shafted imo but I think if he was feeling better he's have been 2nd place for sure, hope you get better adam!

 

Adam was bested cuz he had to play an unfamiliar match-up.
Despite his condition he still played it really well all his games were close

 

good games for everybody has shown up to the event. the event was mad cool. I felt like starting to play some SC4 and DOA4(not ST4). hmm... more likely, I am tired of using chinese girls(pai and chun_li)
anyway, Adam just showed up really in time. if he had arraived there even 1 minute later than that, he would have had to be loser bracket( I really want to show you guys how the CIDKID, who was going to play Adam, was acking! haha).

I would say denkai and cidkid did well.

oh... sorry for going to sleep such an early time on saturday night. I was really exhausted. hope I can play you guys more next time.

Big shot out to everyone i saw there. It was great to have Shidosha run the VF tourney. As long as Shag & Shidosha function as our liaisons to WCG, i think we'll be in good hands.

Congrats to Yosuke, Denkai, and Akmaal for placing. All three played so_well.

Thanks for the kind words. I was obviously in no shape to participate in the tourney, but what can i say? I'm an addict not just of the game, but of being around my fellow VF people.

I had complications that arose from my sleep apnea surgery that i had gotten done last week. The wounds in my throat opened up and i ingested tons of blood. The massive blood loss resulted in fainting, and then a trip to the ER for corrective surgery. I insisted on being released at around 8am so i can go home, shower, and get a couple of hours of shut- eye, just so that i can compete.

I was running late and in danger of missing my match, and it really would have been a shame to just forfeit. So i arrive with a minute to spare - shaky, and devoid of energy, but eager to test my mettle - especially in this state. (Ego...heh.)

I lost to Akmaal (Eileen), and Denkai (Shun). Two great VF nemesis of mine. The former match result was mainly due to it being an unfamiliar match-up, but both matches outcomes were definitely affected by my nerves and focus. I just couldn't muster up enough of either today for reasons explained above, and you need both in amply supply when going up against either Akmaal or Denkai. These guys are animals. Congrats again, my niggas!

Yosuke's play was...well, dominating. The way with which he disposed of Akmaal and Denkai was just...crazy. He played with such confidence and flair. He made a conscious effort to make his matches fun for the audience to watch.

One of the greatest matches was Akmaal's Lei Fei vs Denkai's Jacky, in the losers bracket. Incredibly focused play from both guys, but hats off to Denkai for coming back after a couple of unfortunate instances, where he accidentally hit the start button in the heat of play, thereby giving up the rounds to Akmaal. Great nail-biter of a match; down to the wire!

I wish i could comment on more matches, but i did get there kind of late, and can only recall so much. Maybe others can fill in the blanks.

It was really good games that I was able to see at the tournament ^^ Too bad the games I played were not really good haha, need a lot of practice to reach your level... Anyway, I was happy to test my bad Aoi against some people... I should have not been able to play on the tournament, I would have lost at the qualifications but default winning since a lot of players didn't show at all... Anyway, I still had a lot of fun, hopefully I'll be better one day ^^
