Vote VF5 for world cybergames

DoA4 1st, VF5 2nd for me.

Though voting VF5 1st was quite enticing just to see Japan place 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

 

Of course you can't know what I mean if you think Starcraft: Brood War and Warcraft 3 are the best RTS ever made.

Seriously, if you've never played Myth 2, at it's height: you fucking missed out. Slap Blizzard's dick from your mouth; they haven't made a good game in so long (Diablo 2? Maybe before even that).

As far as:

A number of them aren't even out; and they're not even close to the "best." More like "best looking shallow-rehash."

Example one: if you're to look at "best in genre," why is VF5 on the list and not VF4:Evo, and why SCIV is there but not SC (Evo got some of the best ratings ever, like Soul Calibur)?

Example two: If they have CS 1.6 and Unreal Tournament 3 on the list... WHERE THE FUCK IS UT99?!?

This isn't a list for "best of the genre," this is the "mostly rcent games of a genre, all of which do absolutely nothing new but dumbass gamers can't see the difference because they're mostly fucking retarded."

Yeah, I know the PS3 install base is small, but wouldn't the votes prove that anyway? If suddenly 5 million people want to play a PS3-only game, don't they have the right to do so? Worse yet, where's the Wii? Last I checked that thing sold more...

sebo sure the REALLY OLD GAMES might be GREAT but who the fuck cares if no1 plays then anymore? starcraft brood war is the most balanced RTS game out (with 3 different races!) a great spectator game and has ALOT of players (even after like 10 years, which says alot more than random games like myth 2) I've been playing RTS games competitively for about 6 years now (rep'd aus for war3 at wcg 4 times) sure aus might not be the BEST of countries to host progamers but i sure understand a rts game and i know what makes them great, not sounding cocky at all or anything!

As for world of warcraft, you won't find a bigger hater than me but once again its comes down to popularity, who the fuck plays d2 anymore? and it would be dogshit to spectate, which is another factor they obviously think about. No1 is going to want to watch an ancient game no1 but a few pros play anymore. What good is a great old school competitive game if no1 plays/knows it.

Same goes for CS, huge player base, huge pro scene, enough skill involved, old but not dead, and a good spectator game.

I won't pretend to know what fighter games are the best, but the best out of the ones released this year/next year would be VF5 right? And seeing VF5 is a console game, and the only console being used in WCG is xbox360, seeing its a premier partner of wcg, and seeing the other games are on xbox360, i think this is probably a good reason why those 3 games have been chosen as options. Yet another reason why all the great ancient games arn't in this competition.

okay, I didnt even realise the cybergames was just for pc and 360.

adamay wanted a ps3 option, i figured it wasnt there cause of the later build on the 360.

I'm guessing the Cyber Games are funded/run by MS or something, thus the limited choice between 360 and PC.

Because they want to have online qualifiers. All of their games need online qualifiers. That is why for SC4, there is the option for PS3.

 

If you learn stick it eliminates any actual control issues from the PS3 to Xbox version.

And there is likely to be a bigger Xbox audience.

I know for a fact that I wouldn't be playing Virtua Fighter right now if it hadn't come out on the xbox.

 

There is no PS3 option for any game regardless if it's online or not. You can only choose between PC or X360, and depending on the game (for example, all the fighting games), one of those 2 options is disabled.
