Virtua Stick High Grade vs Real Arcade Pro Stick 3

the HORI Fighting Stick 3 is available in America too right? I saw on the Gamestop site that they were selling it. Is it good or should I get the Virtua Stick High Grade or HRAP 3?

 

both sticks are expensive and one would equate the cost to mean that the PS button would actually freakin' work on PS2 BC games.

VF is fun, but I'm SF player as well and eventually I would like to retire my PS2 and make room for future consoles to take it's place on the TV stand. (the Zephyr 360)

PS3 being PS2 BC would let us expect that a PS3 stick would work on PS2 BC games

I rather not buy any sticks at all and just wait for an adapter with a functional PS button

 

First of all I would like to say hello to everyone since I am new. I decided to get into VF after I started reading about VF5 although I did play some Evo. Anyway I just picked up the Hori FS3 from my local gamestop. It has very solid construction and while it is fairly small(at least compared to my Hori Tekken Stick) It is hefty and won't slide around on your table. Also it works on PC without drivers.

Hey everyone just joined the forum. Not a HUGE VF player, but I am a big fan. Been playing since I got my Saturn for Christmas launch year with the free VF. Anyway, can you compare the Gamestop Hori to the DOA4 Hori stick? I love the Tekken 5 Hori, but I'm not a big fan of the DOA stick. Is it bigger than the DOA stick?

These sticks and games should be BC. I have a PS3 and my PS2 recently broke so what am I supposed to do now? Give me a break Sony.

From what I have been told the Fighting Stick 3 and DOA stick are very similar although I can say the FS3 feels very sturdy and well put together but I don't know how th DOA stick is.

How long are the wires on these joysticks? My couch is pretty far away from the console, so I'd like to know that the cord is long enough before making a purchase. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

The wire is about 10 feet. I just got a usb extender.

Is there ANY fighting stick that is backward compatible with playstation 2 games on the PS3? I'd like to play my older fighting games on it if possible? I'd probably end up getting the hori fighting stick 3 because it's available locally.

Not as of now there isn't /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif We're hoping that Sony can update the firmware on the PS3 to make it so they'll work. There's really no reason for them not to.

With respect to sales of VF5 in Japan (and the VFHG stick), I'm guessing sales numbers were low for the first week because Sega had to do a VFHG stick recall apparently due to some unexplanined problems.

I would've bought VF5 in the first week (and a PS3 actually), but decided not to when I found out that the store had no VFHG sticks.

Hopefully sales will stay at least a bit more constant over the next few weeks, especially when they re-release the VFHG stick.

vshg is better because it uses sanwa buttons like in the arcade cabinet and is cheaper. hrap 3 uses hori buttons which are not as responsive but are good enough. both use sanwa jlf sticks though which are used in japanese arcade cabinets.

From what I can tell it's like getting 100 000 000$ or 101 000 000$ the second is better, but if you can get either you're doing fine.

VFHG. Yes it's Sanwa also like the HRAP3, and yes the HRAP3 is real good. But I've used both extensively now and the VFHG still feels slightly different. The radius of the joystick seems smaller on the VFHG so it helps me with my movement more. Esp. with Lei since you have to switch stances so fast. Also you get better quality buttons(Sanwa) on the VFHG.

I'd give the VFHG a 10 and the HRAP3 a 9 if I had to rate them both.

The 26th (the day that SEGA was supposed to release some sort of information about the VSHG) has come and gone in that region of the world. No information. No press release. No email.

could anyone give me some advice if the cheapass Hori stick is any good ? ( HORI fighting stick 3 its called ) costs about $ 50

id like a stick but most are so expensive but this one has a nice small price, IGN says its good, but id rather have you guys to give me advice /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
