how is the backwards compatibility on the fighting stick 3 and vshg? specifically with ps2 games.

there are already conflicting reports about the hrap 3 and i haven't heard anything about the other sticks.

I wouldnt call 30,000 on launch "day" with a base of 600,000 units poor for a game people rather go play in the arcade. Don't believe media brainwashing, make up your own mind - it still was the top selling game of that days launch. VF4's home version barely broke 500k in japan with even with PS2's massive install base. You gotta watch the posting habits of certain editors . . . after a while all i seem to read is AMERICA FUCK YEEEEAAAAHHH!!!

Brian was comparing it to the DOA4 launch which did 60,000 with only 80,000 Xboxes in Japan (VF5 did 30,000 with 600,000 PS3s sold in Japan). Made the VF5 sound pretty bad to me. I'm no expert on sale trends in Japan vs. USA, though.

I'm just worried that if Sega views the Japanese sales as poor, they may not re-issue the HG (even if it works for more than VF5).

I'm agitated 'cause I don't have any sticks for VF5 and my game disc is just kinda sitting there and laughing at me.

you got to take into account how many of those PS3s are not in gamers' hands and lie in some failed Ebayers' who got over ambitious

Plague brian reads kotaku = xbox fansite (especially the brian ashcraft/crecente combo)- thats exactly where the information came from, lets see how far it gets past the first week of sales. You also consider that the type of people who bought doa at launch as crazy hentai otaku gamers, and you sort of start to see the bigger picture. Seriously if i was a gamer in japan, I dont think i would buy vf5 for home version either. I rather spend that money at the local arcade. Japanese DOA players really dont have a choice other than to buy a homeversion. Its really a skewed news article making VF5 a martyr for the PS3. Also remember VF4 barely broke 500k in japan, which that was a hotter game and had a larger install base to sell to. You gotta make your own opinion on things and not let a single source of media force feed you. There is a reason why kotaku is still labled as a blog site instead of a credited news site (not to say that the news sites are that much better. . .). If you really want to turn up the console wars, PS3 install base if already larger than Xbox 360 in japan(which had a year lead). But lets just leave it at that.

It just really sucks that a xbox fansite who doesnt really give a shit about virtua fighter uses it as a martyr to create more viral ps3 hate.

I was taken in by Kotaku hype. Brian was trying to warn me. Sorry about that. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

Thanks for the update. I'm a little less agitated.

I dont think you are waiting for anything special. The HRAP3 is a nice stick. It has the same stick that the VSHG has. I like the size of the HRAP3, nice and fat with a big face to rest my hands.

    NCSX dude.....

I tried playing MK Shaolin Monks last night on my PS3, it would not work. The screen just kept asking me to plug in a dual shock.
I tried using the HOME button but it did not work. I can't read Japanese so I can't read the directions either. I will try VF4EVO tonight and see how that goes.

Thanks for the info. I just want a couple HGs. I've tried both the HG and the RAP3. If HG isn't out by early March, I'll settle for RAP3. I agree they aren't that far apart regarding quality and feel.

It can be bought for around $60 or less. That's actually a good deal for those in Europe who already have a good PS2 stick as after delivery and customs we end up having to pay $150-200 for a stick. Someone confirmed it worked with HRAP2 and the Hori fighting stick 2.

The problem is that there may never be another stick for the 360. The DOA4 is rare, overpriced and not even that good.

I'm waiting for US release of VF5 rather than import because I just can't justify the shipping costs. So the same goes for arcade stick. I've only seen hori arcade figthing stick here in US. How is that compared to HRAP3 and VSHG.

Sorry i was short on time and couldn't check. But what site do you all order your sticks from?

NCSX.com, Play-asia.com and Himeya are the three I've imported items from.

NCSX and Play-asia tend to have best stick selections. Both are generally priced the same but Play-asia currently has really high shipping costs because they force you to ship via the quickest options.

I need some help from HRAP3 owners and/or VSHG owners.

it regards PS2 BC games played on the PS3.

Can someone who owns a HRAP3 and PS3 test out a PS2 fighter in BC on their PS3 and see if it works?

Can someone who owns a VSHG and PS3 test out a PS2 fighter in BC on their PS3 and see if it works?

I would appreciate it allot /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

But honestly, what does that matter? If you have SF3, Evo, GGXX, or any other wide variety of PS2 fighters, then you more than likely have HRAP1/2s that you use to play them. You do not NEED to play your PS2 games on the PS3.

HRAP 3 does not work for PS2 games on a PS3.

    Convenience. And cost reduction.

Eventually tournies will probably be mainly PS3s, it's gona be a hassle to bring both sets of sticks and consoles when that shouldn't have to be the case.

Here's to hoping SONY can update the firmware to make PS2 games playable via the sticks and adaptors, otherwise it's kind of weak /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
