Jesus christ some dipshit on youtube is getting people worked up. Guys, it's not like his opinion actually matters. He's not a paid game reviewer. He's an attention whore, and you're giving him what he wants.

    Besides...

He's going to be mauled by Shadows during the Dark Hour anyway if the haircut is any indication so don't worry!

I don't possess a Sarcasim-detector. I'm guessing it's something that helps derive deep meaning from character-less, sterile reading?

I must say my Sarcasm Finder 2008ver.5.6 is in working order though.

it's very common for a person who plays beat-em ups casually to call himself "an expert". infact, the only statement i heard was that fighting games are his favorite genre. i thought there was alot of obvious points that already claim that he was never serious about learning games:

-he got VF for his birthday
-the price was a discount sale
    -he never played VF3
-he used names and game modes to represent "knowlege"
-he never once talked about the gameplay mechanics
-he used halo3 in the same conversation (wtf)

as you said before he never had a point, just made a youtube video conversation, and there's many out there if you ever browse youtube. his oppinion only counts as being a consumer gamer, which does infact matter within sales and first impression. but as for judging VF within balance and function he's already failed to do so by not even mentioning it.

I can understand where he is going with this, but at the same time.

VF and every sequel to be released, has the most thought out and balanced gameplay to exist in any fighting game to date. Which is probably why the AM2 team didn't just throw in a bunch of characters like Tekken has done.

They have to make sure that the gameplay is balanced and that the characters they bring into the game strike a balance in terms of power, speed and technique.

That said, I wouldn't mind having more characters to play with, but I also understand that the gameplay in VF doesn't allow for just about any fighting style (and I could be wrong here).

At the end of the day though, it's all a matter of opinion.

People will have different reasons to like of dislike a game. And they will also have a list of things they'd hope to see in a sequel of their favorite franchise.

He also said that they should make a VF1,2,Kids and 3 package for the "hardcore fans".
It's not just the balancing, each character seems to have had 10 times more thought and work put into them than any of the Tekken characters. And by the same token, each character has to have 10 times more work put into learning them. People only read VF=17 characters, Tekken=40 but they fail to see how Namco 'shit out' characters. I'd rather have 17 completely different characters that all have something new to offer than 40 filler characters.

And by the way, I wouldn't have a problem with a casual gamer who doesn't understand fighting games getting VF facts wrong. But this is someone who thinks of himself as a fighting game enthusiast - so much so that he shares his incredible opinions for all to see.

There are dozens of people on this forum (me included) that would have far better opinions worth sharing, yet we have to suffer listening to inane bullshit from this joke.

You missed out on the fact that he didn't buy VF5 but only rented it.

And you didn't mention that he loves Mortal Kombat. I know it's already been mentioned before but it needs saying again.

sometimes the word "hardcore fan" varies in definition. From his point of view, it probably meant VF having a fan-base as a SEGA production. he even mentioned the saturn release as being pretty major, and for any kind of gamer - it was, along with virtual cop and sega rally. in any case though, he never had a ground to base a hardcore definition in the first place, with no talk about gameplay mechanics, we cant really comment apon it at all.

ur second post just..... adds to my list, so im not sure how adding more factors about him being a casual gamer would change the point.

    Wordy little shit aint he?

Don't worry so much about him. He was probably stalling before he listened to My Tragic Reminder and slit his wrists. So we won't ever see him again.

Mortal Kombat a great fighter? The same Mortal Kombat that wouldn't know the first thing about balance, or gameplay? Shit, I feel all depressed that a game that's only a casual entertainment can be thought of as a hardcore masterpiece.

Actually- I probably spent too much time addressing this guy in my big ass post earlier... and I admit I was probably a little rude twoard the end (I was mainly just trying to be funny)My bad!!

Anyway I think BK is right- this guy basically spent 10 minutes explaining how the new VF sucks due to lack of characters. In a VF forum, this is would be just as laughable as if a DOA player came on and started complaining about the lack of boobs or something. I agree with Tony too-- we've probably given this guy enough attention. (although techically I bet he's never even read these posts- and even though I'm adding another one!!)

The main thing that iritated me though, is that this type of mentality is one of the reasons why developers sometimes give us crap games (gameplay wise) that end up selling millions of copies. It seems that more gamers care about hype and presentation than gameplay these days.

There's nothing wrong with Dead or Alive, it's Tekken that's the joke in the fighting game market. Anyway - yes we've given him too much discussion. Although when you get frustrated with some wanker, sometimes you want to go on a typing rampage.

I like DoA as much as I like VF. Soul Calibur beats them all though :D, but I consider it a diff genre (weapon based fighting game). I just started VF and I like it, it's diff than both DoA and SC, so I'm still getting used to it. It's definitely the most balanced fighting game, that's for sure (Akira gets really annoying though with all those low uber hits, well the pwn me so I call them uber).

Vf is similar to chess in a sense that one delicate change means a major change. Imagine a rook that can also do a knight move. Everything changes.

BTW-we got to waste our time listening to a tekken fanboy inbred idiot.
