On a side note has anyone heard VF 'remixed' stuff? I only ask because whilst in Japan in January some of the UK crew were invited to the Zepp Tokyo tourney. Throughout the event Sega pumped remixed music from all the VF games into the venue, and some of the tracks were just awesome. We tried to source these remix CD's but to no avail.

One standout tack was a version of Pai's VF3 track, but with added break-beats and vinyl scratching. Sound naff, but believe us it was probaly the best peice of game music ever!!

Anyone know where this sort of stuff made be available, whether CD or mp3 etc?

    cheers

I haven't seen any VF Remix/Arrange Soundtracks, but there's a VF3 ST called "On the Vocals". All the tracks are based on VF3 gamemusic and some are completely original.
They are performed by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, a Japanese singer/artist. Quite cool...every song is in Japanese! /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

If anybody's wanting the Evolution Soundtrack... Amazon Japan has it, but it's like $20+ not including the shipping, cdnow.com also has it for $40, and also gamemusic for $40. But today, an ebay seller (gkworld) who sells game music mainly, had it for $9 "buy it now." She seems to have alot of game soundtracks, so I'd wait until she posts another one.

Yeah, I'd buy it if you want a cheap Taiwanese pirate knockoff.
That person is notorious on sites like soundtrackcentral.com for the bootlegs.

If it's VF-music, I have it somewhere on my hard drive.

Can you give me a better idea of what the tracks were called?
Dancing shadows? VF on the vocal? Saikyou no senshi? Remixes?

Actually, it's legit stuff. I bought 3 different soundtracks of the original VF soundtrack from them prior, and it's legit stuff. They even have their own store, which you can visit here:

    http://www.gkworld.dvdtsar.com/

do a search for "Virtua Fighter", and you'll find the Evo soundtrack for $9, plus most other of the VF series soundtrack. Check it out!

Again, I have bought from them before, and from what I received, they were legit, spine card and all.

In fact, they advertise their address and phone number, if you do have a problem.

Zero, seriously, here is a pic of the B-Univ and Maximum Mania CDs that I recently got from them. Are these knockoffs? Cause if it is, they went through alot of trouble making some of the inserts.

Yup, just got word from Phoenix, that they're knockoffs. Buyers beware! Should have known something was up with the "made in Taiwan" on the back.

These mofos are getting good. What is the world coming to? Doh!

Ladies and gents, let me be your martyr... cause this aint funny. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

I've seen knockoffs, but damn, they're getting to a point where all you gotta know is, IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS!

You know what's funny, is that when I checked www.gamemusic.com , they too are selling the "SM" versions of the maximum mania and B-Univ soundtracks.

Most official prints of music to older games can't be found new anymore. You'd have to dig up used versions. Those CDs can be had quite cheaply used here in Japan.

...yeah, for guys who previously bought game soundtracks. But for me, personally I thought soundtracks for games was a waste of money and was for dorks. Obviously, I've become a dork.

But alas, these are my first soundtracks for games, and the OBVIOUS blinking neon light that reads "Chinese Knockoff" are no longer so obvious. All cd covers of these knockoffs are exact replicas of their real counterparts, or it would seem on screen on the computer.

So my point is, how would I have known SM was a knockoff if I hadn't bought a game soundtrack in my life, and they don't describe it as a knockoff, just from pics? At least I learned something new in the game soundtracks dept. Er... dude...
