Electric Wind God Fist, it's that electric uppercut the mishima brother's can do, it's a really good move but hard to do consistently. Imagine like a yoho from akira that pushes back on block and fast.

EDIT: Might as well show what it looks like as well! It's those first 3 uppercuts and it also shows it in other parts of the video.

"Where does the animation seem spotty even in its pre build?"

I thought some of Akira's animations looked strange, as well as Jacky's slap out of shuffle step that started that wall combo and the colliosion detection overall looked a bit off. I know It's a pre release build but I don't remember problems like that in any of the pre release trailers for previous games.

"Shame on you for even doubting the Creators and orginators of the 3-D fighting game"

lol, So I can't even critique aspects of the trailer or I'm some blasphemer?. You sound like a drooling fanboy, I never suggested the game wasn't going to be good.

"Gob Job AlexMD. Never heard of you before but you come here with a Tekken podcast that can't explain anything about VF lol!!!"

You probably haven't heard of me before because I joined the community 7 years before you under a different username my old account and don't troll the forums on a daily basis like you do.

If you didn't want to know other people's (outside the VF community) perceptions of VF they you should have listened to the warning.I posted because I was frustrated having heard so many misinformed opinions about VF on a number of different podcasts before and looking for a remedy to that.

I wanted to see where dude was coming from with his talk, so after reading something that was posted, I dropped a line, not mad like some cats. I just wanted to see where he came from sorta.. Its long, so enjoy...

Oh yeah, don't mind the o's and the permalink... That just happened to get copied, and the posts were too long to worry about editing... Some cat named Neels starts off, then Aris and I put some stuff on the table...

I'm sorry. Any tekken fan claiming that VF has bad animation is just ignorant and fanboyish. Foxtrotting -- the most retarted looking animation glitch ever (I hope its a glitch, because if it was DESIGNED to look like that, than that's even worse)-- should be a prime example.

All of the animation in FS trailer is smooth, and I never noticed anything BAD about it personally. I can understand why people may be worried at first (though that's kinda stretching it too), but I think that's only due to the fact that its so drastically different from our versions of VF5...

do you guys remember how to kill Freddy Krueger?

thas right, just FORGET ABOUT HIM.

same shit applies here. ignore the ignorant and he wont ever appear (for lack of "support / hits"). hit him where it hurts, the i dont care tactic.

This isnt true. Ignorance spreads and eventually outweighs and then errodes knowledge. The way to combat ignorance is witth education and experience. Whether or not people choose to do this in this case i don't know, but just remember that with we heard it, then people who don't know any better probably did as well.

You guys are acting like people not liking VF is news. It's not.
If you want to really inform people about VF you should make a website..........wait.....or make some videos......oh......well maybe a podcast will change everything......

Not likely but it could be fun. If you want to do one however don't do it to combat the other podcasts. The games base is so much larger it will be pretty pointless. You may be calling him a fanboy but at the end of the day this thread is on it's 4th page due to someones blurb on a podcast......

    hypocrite much?

If you can't tell the difference between me getting upset about Aris spreading around obvious mistruths to people that may have otherwise had some interest in the game. Like "VF has 16 year old animations and is still using the old physics,VF5FS looks exactly like VF2, it looks fucking retarded, same sound effects as VF1" etc. And SDSoverfiend getting upset because I said I thought a couple of the animations in the new trailer were "a bit spotty" in the virtuafighter forums full of people that already play the game, then I don't know what to say.

Where I live there aren't that many VF players and it can be a real struggle to get new people to play because this is the shit that they're listening to.

Having taught a few players VF from various other fighting game communities I see these misconceptions as a real problem.

The idea of a Tekken to VF guide is a really good one I think. I've heard people bashing the VF throw system because they assume that you are supposed to break them on reaction like in Tekken. People always complain that the movement is clunky not knowing that you can cancel dashes/evades in a similar way to Tekken etc.

Focusing on the similarities between the 2 games as a basis for a short guide seems like the way to go. I think it's more realistic than expecting people to go through and understand the entire wiki when first picking up the game. A lot of people spend an hour or two trying to learn a new game but have no idea where to start because everything is foreign and they just give up, and carry around a negative opinion about the game which they spread to everyone else (like in the podcast).

I'll try and come up with a short outline in the next two weeks to see if I could get a good working guide out of it.

You guys who don't see a problem with the image of VF in other fighting game communities can continue to stick you heads in the sand [IMG] .

Of course people who are pretty good at other games are not going to give up their hard-earned skills to begin anew in VF, they will stick with what they are good at.

There is enough info here for newcomers, this is the best site on the net for info and advice. I am a newcomer myself anyway.

The thing that annoys me is the people here who have 50 or so posts, never ask questions, never give advice, but apparently they know it all about VF AND Tekken. They are the "guru" of the fighting game community, they dont need to ask question like noobs, they have innate understanding of all fighting games.

(superpanda, empnova, instantoverhead, all these peoplo are like university lecturers, they fucking love the sound of their own voice, its all about their shit. fuck that off your higher ground, maybe start playing games and get some feedback on the ggs thread, then its more likely that we take you seriously)

I think you lot need to stop being so butthurt over this.

The guy can say whatever the fuck he likes. I don't care if he gives my game shit. I don't need to defend the game, anyone who plays it can make their own judgment and in the world of video games facts are hazy at best due to people blindly attacking and blindly defending.

If anything you're making this much worse than it should be by calling people fanboys and making fun of other games. It's pointless.

Like I said before, I was merely trying to see where Aris came from with what he said. In turn, he copped out and blamed it on entertaining the crowd. I play both games and other fighting games that get looked down upon so I'm not really caring as much as it may seem.

I will say the podcast idea isn't intended to attack or defend but to inform. I think people are more likely to listen to something or watch a video that informs people rather than read a whole page regardless of how easy it is to navigate. Prime example is the vf5r match vids that people were watching during the petition saga. There were quite a few people that were interested in this just from that. Iunno who bought vf5 vanilla because of it, or who got back to playing it for that matter. I am kinda mad at myself because during that time I could have attempted to hype others to try the game out and see what happened from there. Iunno though, I'm not tryiing to be a vf evangelist, but if you put something out for others to hear, make sure is correct. Otherwise, cats are gonna correct it, unless its an opinion though. I'm still gonna be on vf for years to come so I'm not sweating that.

You know what Mack, there are people that left both tekken and doa for vf... I do wonder if the opposite has ever happened... I know people leave vf for sf and that's because more people play it, not game mechanics or anything like that...

i could be wrong but, the only credible person i know that left VFDC and went tekken is ryan heart? this isnt coming from me, i heard it on xbox live chat.. i dunt even remember who said it. but im curious, any known VFDC players ever leave VF and go strictly tekken due to the reason they like tekken better...?

from my personal experience. 5 of my frends all tekken players.. all switched to VF. I used to be " FUCK VF.. vf looks gross.. looks boring..then i got attracted to a tekken like character named goh, lol" but once i understood the game, im strictly VF, i honestly dont think i wanna play nething else seriously.. Maybe startcraft but thats about it.

both games are fun/good. I just dont know neone who would prefer Tekken when they understand VF...however understanding VF... is not easy and something anyone can do.. requires time and patients.
