hmmm... so normal command throws come out at 10 F, and special throws from wrestlers are at 8 F. many ppl say vf5 feels like tekken because of the nerfed throw and 2P, they are thinking vf vs tekken is about to come out soon. ppl are expecting to see mysterio vs taka in other dimension for their size matter, and taka will be back at 2010. ppl also believe aoi is not a virgin anymore...

Geez, I was beggining to worry that the game wasn't going to be that big of a leap forward, but damn this makes DOA4 look pathetic. Can't wait 'till we get it.

I am hoping and praying that they got the "Counter the Counter" or "Parry the Counter" in this installment of VF. Please, pretty please Sega! Show Tecmo how it it's done properly! (Tecmo done this on the first DOA but didn't capitalised)

If Sega do this THEN we'll have a true Kung-Fu flick.

Wow, that article is awesome. Too bad some the screens are so god damn blurry...but that's more then enough...I can't watch the video though, since my PC is garbage. Oh well.

hmm interesting article. Game looks like it could be a lot of fun. I hope they add in weight properties to the big guys. Lion has his VF2 costume back! woo hoo!

sadly we have to wait until next year for it to show up in arcades but I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait. I can't wait to play it either.

I don't know about you guys but the akira clip is crap compare to the Wolf vs Vanessa clip. There is no comparison the Wolf vs Vanessa clip looks god like compare to the Akira vs Shun which seems like 2 photo-animated dolls fighting each other.

Terrible idea, reversals are already a bit risky for the reward, that would make them worse.

Maybe you should just play doa.

counter the counter? isnt pai could do it already? though that one is useless, i think it's quite interesting. maybe that monkey girl will have this tech and the game will be more complex. so u still can prey...

    Reversing a reversal could work.

If the reward is too low for the risk, then just increase the reward.

More damage for a reversal, but it can be reversed.

Reversing a reversal might not cause as much damage, but it would save your ass and look damn cool in the process.

Imagine Shun Di reversing one of Pai's reversals, or one of Aoi’s throws with some crazy looking animation.

    I'd love to see that.

It can work if designed right.

Maybe something along the lines of decreasing the damage, but I don't care if the reversal does 50%. If you took the risk for the reversal, you deserve a reward. Taking damage for risking your ass is not a good reward. If that happened, reversals would never be used again.

infinite reversal should be more fun. imagine two aoi player keep doing reversal to each other by mashing buttons extremely fast. so after 40+ sweaty secs, one of them failed to input the correct reversal command at last moment, the vftv yelled "command miss!" thus that player took 20 damage and lost that round... that will be hilarious. oh no, huge damage reversal shouldn't exist, or everyone will have to choose between characters who have huge damage reversals or the ones that can reverse them.

I think you have this in Tekken where Heihachi can headbutt a male opponent where he can reverse it and do a headbutt on Heihachi instead and from thereon the two can keep on reversing and headbutting each other. Lame indeed.

Yeah, it looks better than I expected now that we can see it's floating in the air. I wonder if the House stage's walls can be broken down enough to ring out through. It also looks like the City has a track, which could mean we get some VF3-esque trains passing overhead.

The stages look great thanks to the lighting, they just need some shadow maps in the environments to make the characters even more a part of them (right now the fighters are the only objects that cast shadows, dynamic or static).

wasnt called a chicken in tekken

i dont know if this was mentioned, but i heard vf5 has 6 way evade now

So hold on a second, with the ajusted throw speed doesn't this make throw escapes a hell of a lot easier? And with that, making grapplers having to work harder for their throws?

The Akira vs shun clips looks good, the throws definitely look like they have been slowed down. The only thing i don't like about it is that big flash of light whenever the final hit is landed.

It reminds me too much of tekken or some 2d game. I hope sega takes that out.

you´re right, tekken had that, it´s called a chicken, and it works most of the time, but you have to anticipate it, and buffer it after your move comes out, f+2+4 for moves with 2 and 4 i think, and f+1+3 for moves using 1 and 3, so you can buffer easily.

didn´t do much, not even give you frame advantage, it just helped to get you out of the reversal basically

how does that 6 way evade work?

btw imo, the [3]+[P]+[K]+[G] and [9]+[P]+[K]+[G] seem to be used now more as offensive evasion, instead of using normal evade like you would in VF4, that´s why a failed evade got nerfed so much, kills ARE and nerfs boxstepping basically.

i think that making grappler´s throws faster than regular fighters is a good thing, however, they should´ve kept the frames lower, around 8F for a regular char´s throw and 6F still for a grappler´s throw, just IMHO.

i as a jeffry and goh player hope nitaku doesn´t get toned down too much, however, i´ve yet to see sega screw up in something, whereas nitaku as we know it might be lacking, nitaku in other forms will appear i hope.
