    you dont have to

set up a private match, invite your friend and there will be a rematch option. but only in private match.

New pet peeve: joining games with people using the Xbox 360 pad. Since I'm using the joystick with the traditional setup, instead of G, P, K in that order from left to right, I get P, K, G so it's pretty much an automatic loss for me in those situations. You should be able to adjust your controls somehow for those instances.

You got to set the 2 player controls yourself to avoid this. That's what it's recognizing, your controls. Go into control settings and make sure the 1p and 2p side are the same.

It must be a bug or something. It's incredibly frustrating having to try time after time until it works. I'd say for me it's a 70% failure rate, I'm getting the stupid "Can't join Session" a lot more often than not. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

This will happen for a number of reasons. It mostly occurs when both parties are behind a firewall. To decrease the possibility of this happening as much as possible, you have to direct connect your xbox 360 to your modem (not router). It's really annoying to reconnect to router and back, especially if you have other computers that need the connection.

If you're using a router, next best thing you can do is make sure your NAT settings (in the network config on the 360) is 'Open'. 'Moderate' is just ok, but less likely to connect unless the other party's NAT is 'Open'. Just google how to set up the NAT stuff on the 360.

Again, if you still have problems even with NAT 'Open', try direct connecting if you haven't already. Hope any of this helps.

If you are using quick match option then its is propably because your opponent has already been challenged by someone else. I guess you could say that the problem is in the way the online challenge system works.

It is also possible that its a connection issue. The info that player is available to challenge is propably at the XBL server, but the actual challenge wont go thorugh cause your xbox is not able to create a p2p connection with that xbox? Im just thinking aloud really.

Even though I may repeat myself. This game has no bug:

I think VF.com should have an VF5 XBOX 360 FAQ, so that the same questions don't get asked over and over.

I really enjoy being able to play online, but i do not enjoy the controller at all. Its horrible. I constantly perform the wrong action because of it and its more then frustrating. I have to quit online for awhile to get used to a stick, which i really feel I will not adapt too very fast. Its sad. Really wish I could use the ps3 controller! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Why doesn't someone write one? I don't have an Xbox 360.

Just played the 360 version for the first time tonight and I'm shocked the online play is actually good.

However, I don't have a pair of sticks for the 360 yet (plan to get one tomorrow), so it's a bit of a pain playing with the 360 pad... But oh well, I'm playing VF with people and still winning most of my matches. But that 360 pad really is frustrating... I can't even decide which is worse, the analog stick or the d-pad...

Thanks for the tip that I couldn't use custom controls online because of the player 2 setting (I set to join, so I was playing player 2 side).

    So far, I'm very pleased.

Might be a blessing in disguise though. You may end up loving stick and being really good at it once you do make the adjustment.

    Dre!

Thanks for the great Online games today. You're Lei Fei and Akira were a blast to play with. You got serious skills man and I look forward to playing with you again soon!

Maybe you can share a little of your Akira playing thoughts with the group. Of course you and I were only a city or two apart(Irvine to Anahiem) but the connection seemed solid and it felt like you were in the room.

    Take care!

    Hey great games today!

I think Danny 13, Manjimaru and a few others have shared most of the knowledge already in the Akira thread. I haven't been able to contribute for the past few months because I don't have a PS3. As soon as I find out some new weird stuff in the 360 version I'll share.

man, i'm so fcukin impressed with this online mode.... this evening i played against people from: canada, usa, france, russia, italy, poland....and i swear the games were almost lag free to more than playable.....and i had some incredibly tense battles with good 5th and 6th dan players.

i'm particularly noticing good connection to the continent...and amazingly the connections seem better across the water that down south! i don't really understand why that would be but it seems to be the case.

Overall online is pretty good. However lag is going to happen and it screw up timing on combos. Also some minor countering and unable to stop low punch spamming. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Hey Guys - need some help. I just hooked up the 360 to a 1080P Bravia via the stock HD component cables and find the online play quite sluggish / laggy. Offline seems ok, as i am able to connect combos, but playing online is a huge problem (i can't even tech roll / quick rise properly). This is occurring even against opponents with whom i usually have an excellent connection (and therefore no gameplay problems) - when playing on my standard def TV.

The 360 is outputting 720p and the display info on the TV screen confirms this. Does anyone have any suggestions?!
