Didn't seem like they said much new about it, and it seemed pretty clear that neither the reporter or the Sega rep understood much about VF's appeal.

Maybe that's just my jerk opinion. I dunno.

wow i hope that's not the final build. the load time seems worse than the ps3 version. i'm going to keep my fingers crossed.

I kept noticing that, I dunno what the hell is up with that.
I hope it's not the final build either, because it's almost 20 secs of loading.

Game looks good though, and it seems like the plan to support the game after release, with I guess new content, tournaments, etc.

Fishie how consistently were you able to sidestep a standing punch or elbow while playtesting at Lepizig? That's what I really want to know; how much that and Akira and Aoi's reversals worked while playing online.

I thought that presentation was dire at best. The rep didn't know squat about the game. The only decent bit of info I garnered from the clip was that the replays of the top ranking players would be available on Xbox Live, somewhat like VFTV.

With Ver C, online mode, transferable characters and an arcade stick it seems like Sega have really pulled their finger out on this port.

That interview was straight from the twilight zone - i mean nearly every word that came from the mouth of the Sega rep was complete gibberish.

Also thought it was pretty rich that the Sega rep was unable to locate Akira at the character select screen (damn, how long has VF 5 been out now), and that he referred to Hori as "Nori" (Mr. Magoo, that's an "H" on the box, not an "N").

I did like the 50,000g I spotted at the start of quest mode though. In fact, I can't even think of 50,000g worth of stuff I want to buy. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

If the prices are the same as in the online shop, then that isn't as much as it sounds like. For example, one of Wolf's jackets costs roughly 25000-30000 in the online shop.

Smaller, more cosmetic things(contacts, new color items) are quite cheap, however.

The guy at the VF Sega booth really had no real knowledge about what he was talking, as he also forgot most things, and the interviewer himself had to refresh his memories about "his" to-be-advertised game features.

Well, we havn't seen new things, as they didn't try out the online mode unlike IGN. Read on here: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/815/815470p1.html

  9. Please explain to me how not updating the ps3 version is neccessary. I don't get it. Admit it, It IS fucked up that ps3 people got stiffed

You guys are looking at VF as if its some special game and the regular trends and rules of the gaming industry don't apply. Whenever a game is ported from one system or another they add features because they have more time to polish. It isn't like they're going out of their way to not update the PS3 version. In terms of getting "stiffed" you'll have had the game for 8 months before the Xbox 360 version came out. That's the trade off.

Sega will make good on PS3 owners in the future, is my prediction. Gaming stores here in Osaka have XBox360 counters which are essentially akin to the bargain bins back home.

A Japanese company would run itself into the ground by not catering to its Japanese audience first.

If it weren't for that, I'd say PS3 owners owuld be out in the cold though.

I bet you we dont get an update. Most likely Sega will release a greatest hits version of Vf5 on Ps3 for $20 with all the new upgrades (I know VF sold like less than 250,000 worldwide, but whatever). Either way Sega gets to do another thing companies love to do with all other games: sell the same damn game 3 times. SEGa isn't screwing over Ps3 players or 360 players, they are into ripping off VF fans.

Sadly, no matter how much I love VF, I think GoDokunoDan's predicition is going to be accurate.

    I know I'd shell out 2,100 yen for a version C, online VF5. Fuckers!

Shit, it's the same thing Namco did for T:DR. Bastards!

most of you guys including me got to play VF5 almost a year before 360 owners so quit the bitching. not only that but like i said most games that are on both consoles end up being better on the 360. blame sony if anyone. the reason VF5 lacks online play for the PS3 is because most people in japan have no reason to play VF5 online.

since they still have arcades in japan. sony is catering to japanese gamers. sony is a japanese company after all. think about it alot of the great PS2 titles were imported from japan. i think its a good thing and a bad thing. the good thing is theres alot of great games that will be made for japanese audiences that well get to play for the PS3.

the bad thing is since japanese gamers arent into online gaming. unlike alot of countries that no longer have arcades. thats why online gaming is so popular for example here in the states. microsoft knew this and took advantage of online gaming. think about it which console usually gets more online support when it comes to online play and downloadable content?

it might not be now but in about 2 years you could end up seeing alot of great games on the PS3. i just personally dont want to wait 2 years for some good games to arrive on the PS3. just look at microsofts online community compared to sonys. its not even close. sony obviously doesnt think they need the online aspect to win the console war and in the end who knows they might be right.

i personally think it wouldve been nice if sony was more online friendly when it came to the PS3. so companys would be more supportive when it came to downloadable content. which in my opinion extends the life of games. i personally am not into online gaming but if your are the 360 is the best console when it comes to online gaming and content.

im pretty sure though that the PS3 in the end will have a great library of games. i also think the PS3 will probably end up getting a more diverse line up of games too. the problem is how long will that be and will it be too late by the time it happens? sony will always be popular in japan since the japanese only buy japanese made products.

so of course microsoft is going to fail in japan. even if the 360 was obviously the better console the japanese would still buy the PS3 because its a japanese console. so i could care less how the 360 is doing in japan. what i want to know is worldwide which console is having the most success. to me the gaming console that is catering to more people worldwide instead just japanese consumers is the best one for me.

why because i dont live in japan. if that console ends up being the PS3 then good. that just means that sony cares about its fanbase outside of japan. right now though i wish sony would at least have more downloadable content for its games. thats all im asking for but like i said sony isnt trying to win the online war. their trying to win with blue ray and by having the most diverse line up of games.

i know sony was successful with pushing dvd but im wondering is sony going to come out with a new dvd format every time they release a new console from now on? i couldve done without the blue ray player. i rather have games over blue ray movies right now because there isnt many blue ray movies on the market in the first place. so in the end dont blame sega for not making VF5 online for the PS3. same thing goes for downloadable content.

if sony had pushed for online play like microsoft the PS3 wouldve most likely got a patch for VF5. so if anyones to blame its sony because they dont think that online features are that important. think about it as a game developler. if sony doesnt support online gaming like microsoft whats the point of making a patch or downloadble content.

with microsofts online community its worth making downloadable content and patches to fix games. so people stop blaming sega. we all know if the sony had pushed for online when it came to its consoles there would be more games to play online for the PS3. same thing goes for downloadable content. its pointless for game developers to add online features if sony doesnt support online play.

some of you might get mad but im just keeping it real. what i posted makes sense. if it bothers you that much not having version c do what i did sell your PS3 and pickup a 360. wait till the PS3 is cheaper and has more games then buy a PS3.

i had a great response for this, but i'm at work and don't wish to get flagged. so, i will shorten my post to the bare minimum whilst still making a valid point (take notes... you desperately need to):

    stop.

    please.

you post, someone hits the table you're sitting on, you skip, and you post the same damned thing all over again as if the first 5 times never happened.

stm loss is attributed to marijuana usage. get help.

alzheimers is another possiblity. seek a doctor.

    stop.

    please.

shut up tribal. im just responding to the people complaining because they feel like sega is screwing them. go to gamefaqs where people worship you. like i said im sure im not the only one on here that smokes. whats that have to do with what i post? all i did was give an explanation to those wondering why VF5 on PS3 doesnt have a patch.

you so smart his name says 420 so im going to make jokes about pot. shut the hell up. come up with something thats not obvious. im not insulting anyone so why are you attacking me. your an idiot. i dont care if some of you dont like me. deal with it. what was the point of your post? i posted what i did to inform people why VF5 for the PS3 doesnt have a patch.

sorry i havent been on here as long as some of you. i guess my opinions dont count then. did you even read what i posted or did you just start talking shit because you dont like me? im not a badass like you tribal since you just beat off and then start kicking peoples asses on VF.

You've responded over and over and over and over with the EXACT same thing. Do you notice that everyone's attitude toward your posting is the same? It's not because we hate you (at least I don't) it's just the maddening vapidity of your posts.

Smoking pot has nothing to do with, no one cares about that. It's the godawful mindless repetition man. Just relax and quit posting the same shit. We definitely know what you think about the whole ps3 v. 360 by now, trust me.
