VF5 on Xbox 360

Hey, xbox live is hopefully going to be great for the vf community and vfdc seems very interested in helping get new players into the game so i was wondering if when the 360 version is released maybe a mentor system could be established to help get new players who sign up on these forums to learn and become better at virtua fighter with the help of veterans on this forum through xbox live?

 

I've found a nice VF clone, it can be played online for free. If VF works just a bit better, then the online mode should be pretty neat.

I agree that was one sick video, it makes me even more hyped up to get this game.

Btw, anyone know a confirmed release date for this in any region?

That vid was all types of awesome. Best thing about these promotional videos is the fact that all of them have that vibe like they were made in the early 90s.

Apparently VF5 got pushed back from 10/2 to 10/30. (According to eb games and Gamespot)

Kinda sucks, but I'll just hope that they are using this time to improve the online aspect.

 

halo 3 is listed as 9/25, so i think sega had to space it out even if the game were ready and perfect in every way. still other good competition for dollars around that time though, including mass effect.

 

I think that mentor program sounds kind of cool. You'd pair up with your mentor in battles almost like a masterclass. It'd be great if they do the online play like they did with DOA where you're in a lobby and a group of you can watch the people playing, you could all be critiquing as they fight.

 

When I first heard that 360 was getting an online capability I was pissed. But after awhile of soaking in my own sweet and savory juices, I could live with it. It would be a good way to work out the kinks before it comes to PS3.(and it better or else..........something bad will happen, maybe to me,maybe to some innocent civilian waiting for the bus.) And besides theres bound to be another installment.
All I can do now is pray to Buddha.

...then again, it looks no different than walking around in tokyo. some of those people really get into character.

 

I like the wolf hat /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif similar to vf4. I was checking up on hkvf.net's item list and alot of the stuff on there doesnt appear in the ps3 version. Lets hope it comes out for download for ps3. Yeah i agree on online capability however im sure lag would ruin it, unless they can pull off something like tekken DR's ghost data.

 

I realize that VF5's online won't be nearly as robust as DOA4. (Since it was designed from the ground up with online in mind)

I do hope though, that they have a spectator mode, so that I can watch people besides myself get destroyed. D:

 

Sega had dev teams do things in common with that in the past (I think NFL 2K5's VIP system was actually the first system of that type brought stateside), so perhaps if the right people are on it, we could have ghost trading and similar features coming our way.

We are given to option to change the character's sexual preference now? That is awesome.

It shouldn't stop there- there should be items that can turn all members of the cast into Godzilla type creatures, super heroes, salary men/women, shitty jobs (like janitor), swapping of body parts (Wolf's head, Sarah's body, Akira's arms, Eileen's legs, Jeffry's body hair, Lion's voice), changing win quotes, facial expressions, character's attitude and outlook on life, etc.

The idea being able to play a Vanessa dressed in super market uniform doing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and asking "Paper or plastic?" in a murmur hinting at her frustrations with dealing with the average dickhead as one of her new intros, with her original ethnicity and butch haircut.... awesome! (oh, and more eyebrow options; red hair/white eyebrows looks stupid... and give her BLACK hair)

I can totally see Akira as a cop or the Biker from the village people (he has the 'stache).

Imagine "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT" (we still have this?!) or "Oh, My, GAWD! These furnishings look Fabulous!!" in Akira's voice (Japanese of course).

Pretty interesting that Sega is replacing Lion with Brad as the homoerotic character of choice.

 

As long as all these new items are available on the 360, that shit is fine by me.

Being out here in Japan, I think Goh might be a bit more homoerotic for some of the wackjobs that I've seen play. As long as they don't taint Wolf, or make Jeffry any more of a joke than he is, I won't complain.
