I'm new to VF, and liking it much more than other fighters I've played (DOA 4, SC 2), but has anyone else noticed a sudden camera reset after some of the throws?

I've been playing with the D-Pad, I find it difficult to do some diagonal moves sometimes, but overall I can use it more than I can with the analogue stick.

I'm getting an Arcade srick, but I can't seem to use Analogue stick in fighting games other than in Soul Calibur games.

I heard about the demo the day it came out on 1up. I swear the instant feeling i got was that feeling you used to get when you watch porn, you know... You gotta shit. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif I swear i was praire doggin that shit. Anyways, I called up my cousin to let him know because unfortunately for me I was at work at the time and plus my xbox was gone because of the Red Arse Rings. Afterwards, I played th demo after work at my cousins after work and I played with the d-pad but it was easier for me with the analogue stick. I got the Hori Stick the next day, and played after work again. I got that freakin' achin in my fingers man. Right now I'm excerising my fingers to get used to it. Me and my cousin are trying to master Eileen and El Blaze respectively until the game comes out using only the command list on the demo. Anyone with Xbox Live get my GT "Shun Is Drunk"

This is just a demo I am hoping the issues are fixed in the Final Version. I too hate the 360 pad and as for tournies I hope there is a new version by mid next year and its on ps3 because I cant imagine sega taking VF serious or pad players taking vf serious on the 360.. Is thre not a VSHG coming out for 360, My cousin was outraged that he sold his ps3 for this.. I told him the pad would suck anyways I hope the dark graphics and poly breakup issues are fixed.

I dunno Ijust have a bad feeling about VF on 360 its not to be biased but come on sega you release all of VF4 on ps2 and loads of ppl perfect their DS Pad skills and now this.

Anyone who is a pad player should hold out on this release I have a strong feeling the ps3 will get the final ver of VF5

I think they're refering to the cases like when you do a heavy ground attack and go thru the grounded character landing on the floor as if they're not there... <shrug> it's always been like that... Sega isn't gonna fix it. We don't care. It's irrelevent to game play.

I agree with S_D, not likely.

I can't believe no one on this thread has commented that the default Hori joystick button set-up is fuxor. WTF! Default has the buttons as
    --- /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif
    -- /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif

Any nOObs reading this, set your joystick to the arcade proper
    --- /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif
    -- /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

immediately. It's been that way for over a decade for a reason... christ, I can't believe someone who knows anything about VF let that one slip thru at Hori/Sega/Microsoft... probably because the person checking this didn't know anything about VF... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Thanks for the heads up Yupa. I just contacted the guy modding my VSHG and told him to change the button layout (he already had it done and was going to ship Tuesday) to:

    A B Y
    X LT RT

Instead of what it was. I actually like the placement of the A and B buttons better, since A is used to navigate a lot and it is better on the index (I was going to have him do it this way from the start, but had him match the Hori configuration in the end).

I believe the reason the stick isn't default layout is because that would screw up the pad. The stick is like this:

    B X Y
    A LT RT

Now imagine how weird it would feel for pad players to have X as kick for default and B as punch, then A for guard. Even the default is bad for VF pad players (can't hit K+G), but this would be worse. P on the B button just feels really weird. And for the million plus that bought DOA4 on 360, this would be a very foreign and awkward to adjust to setup. They chose the best mapping for the pad (where the majority will be playing) over the stick (the expensive - not licensed by SEGA so why should they care - peripheral).

The XFPS causes major lag, even with the Dual Analog PS2 controller!

I couldn't even complete Akira's double-jumping kick consistently because the second kick wouldn't always register.

What a POS that converter is. I may try to get my money back.

Thats is true. I'm pretty sure that you can go into the controller menu, and directly select the arcade setup. As for the whole Pad Vs. Stick discussion, I find that My Doa4 stick works pretty well and the transition between Doa4 and Vf5 pretty much flawless where controls are concerned. I'm surprised many of you didn't do any research on the 360 dpad. Doa players knew from the start that the pad was trash, and were looking for alternatives.. Oh, and the Demo is wack because there is no PAI, and it ended it 3 matches.

The demo at least has an sparring mode. Only for some reason they called it Vs., and it tends to break up the sparring by telling me I've excellented my opponent. Then after 3 times, it resets and makes press fight again to continue my sparring. Oh well, it is good enough for me until the game comes out, and better than waiting.

The AI setting is so easy, I´m using Arcade mode as training, even if I never really played any VF before Ihave already learned about 2/3 of Sarah´s moves this way.

Um, your sparring mode is really <u>vs.</u> mode, not a training mode. It's made for human vs. human fighting. Your 3 "exellent" rounds then restart is you winning a match against a phantom uncontroled 2nd player 3-0. You then have the choice to fight again with the same character, return to the character select screen, or return to the main menu. When the full version comes out, you'll also have the ability to save the match for replay later. Get a friend to control the other character, and I think you'll like vs. mode a lot more. =)

BTW, when the full version comes out, Dojo mode is what you're looking for. You can either go thru a character's complete move list, or go to free fighting (what I think you thought you were doing). In free fighting, you can pound on the second character dummy indefinately. There's no time limit and they never run out of health. You can set it to crouch/stand/hop or guard/normal hit/counter hit, or even have another person control it.

You've gotta be kidding me right....

I mean... I appreciate the willingness to help and that spirit to help noobs and all but, honestly... if anyone on the internet is that stupid, they don't deserve to be helped. I was making a humorous play on the fact that the vs. mode is a good enough sparring mode for anyone with 2 controllers that wanted to practice stuff before the 360 version came out. I applaud your innocence. It truly is encouraging that there are people that would go to your lengths to ensure that the "noobs" are doing ok with the game. It's a good lookout for the site as a lot of new people will be coming here to wonder wtf is going on in VF5 online once the game is out.

Gullibility runs both ways... and I've known and worked with people that are that stupid... just bored tonight, and I don't feel like talking high level strategy or tactics... I'm sick of rock/paper/scissors for the moment... what frightens me, is that there are kids on the net that will read this thread and go "Oh Yeah! What a great idea! Never thought of that."

You know, what is the deal with loading time anyways? Unless a game takes minutes to load, I never notice it at all.
