It looks like Ohsu and Eight (wolf) are in the final two spots.

Both Vanessa players went up against Chibita and lost. So much for that "weak against Vanessa" theory, eh?

I'm actually happy for Homestay's win. He isn't just one of the best VF players out there, he's one of the most amazing gamers I've ever seen. If anyone deserves to be called a "pro gamer", it's him. Not to mention he's an Aichi-ken homey. ^^

Can't wait to see his ESPGaluda replays on the PS2 DVD...

Vith, yeah, there trophies are really out there. The one where Haijin won the entire tourney that was huge as well. Homestay is about 5'5" with bad posture. So that makes him even shorter in person. haha

    GRRRR

ok this is... kinda related to the tournament.. I thought it would be stupid to start another thread about it so here we go.

on the bottom is the round robin finals thingy. In Hirigana... I know its supposed to say Chibita but the last symbol I can't understand. Chi - bi - wtf . Can anyone explain to me what symbol that is. In my little book of "Japanese for dummies" the symbol for ta is way different. Sorry if this seems off.. topic...

edit : Dandy_J was tellin me on IRC that it is kanji. I think it looks a little like the kanji symbol for man or boy. Making his name something like Chibi (small) boy, man. Can anyone confirm this?

    Re: GRRRR

Yes - looks similar with "dai" or "ohh" - also similar looking to "ken" (inu - dog). But it has the 'mark' at the bottom. The sound is "ta" or "tai" (as in taiyo - sun) or "okii" or "futoi" or "futoru" (big, fat or verb of).
Just a guess, but his name could be a play on words - "chibi" meaning small one and "ta" symbol for big. Don't quote me on that though.

the :ta: is a common part of male names in japan. that :ta: is often found in :tarou: which is quite common.
