    hey dar, happy new year to you too,
    come to a meeting again sometime soon!

    @ake: yeah, finally, still gotta clean up, but it's great to be back /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    bumfood: tilburg is so annoying to travel to, and away from. we try to have a meeting for more than one day usually to make up for travel irritations. it'd be cool to see you at a meeting somewhere in the future though!

    Hello, I'm new here. A guy named 'Pancho Villa' from Xboxworld.nl and someone with the gamertag 'Fishie flop oog' told me I should register here, so here I am...

    I play with Goh most of the time and I live in Belgium, so odds are very low that I can join the meetings that have been discussed around here.

    I do have a question though: is it OK over here to mention a website that's organizing an online tournament for people from Belgium and The Netherlands? We've got about 18 people now, but I'd like to bring in as many people as possible. After all: the more, the merrier, especially with beat 'em ups... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    It's a small league based on points instead of an elimination tournament, so even if you lose your first match, you can still play against others and try to work your way on the top. The winner might get a game a prize, but we haven't decided which game yet and we'll announce the details later.

    You can find all the neccessary information in the following link and I would appreciate it if we could get some more experienced players involved in the tournament. If everything goes well, the registrations will be closed around Monday or so, but the participants will get to decide when they'll play against whom. We will mention how much time you guys will have to finish your matches though, like (for example) two weeks.

    If there are any questions, let me know, I'll be sticking around for a while!

    So it's going to be an online tournament?
    No thank you, I promised myself I wouldn't take online play with this game serious, ever. It's only going to get me loads of frustration.
    And not a lot of players here have a 360 w/ XBL i'm afraid

    Yeah, it's an online tournament, since one in real life wouldn't be feasible for us (given the fact that we're allowing people from two different countries).

    But it won't be that serious though. Most important thing for us is that the participants are having fun and getting to know more people that like playing the same game. But whether or not you actually want to join is up to you, it's your decision so I won't be trying to force you or anything. :p

    had some nice games vs sofiane and krye this sunday, last minute meeting, for me it was a practise for upcoming weekend as i havn't played much since last meeting (against people that is).
    krye has already got quite a mean goh and sofiane seemed to have his grip around akira again. looking forward to this weekend.
    i didn't play as well as i hoped, i thought i had mastered some things, but it didn't work out during play, so i'm gonna practise a bit more and try to win the little tournament.

    @sof: you where right about jackys 46P+K: 14 frames, damn that is too much!!

    I won't be able to make it to the next meeting. I'm just way too busy this week. But next time you know I'll be there.

    (I didn't even play that much since last meeting so I probably suck even worse now :(, but after these busy weeks are over I'm back to VF)

    March 1st?

    Sure, let's have a meet on my birthday...

    I'll definately make it for the second, but the first might be a problem. I've got no solid plans for that time though, so we'll have to see.

    Hey guys, it was a great weekend again, thanks for everyone for making it fun, vort for his dedicated ps3 bringing, spoon for his 360 and
    sof for hosting and hospitality.

    Played some great games against all of you, everyone is getting so good, you really need to play consistantly and work for maximum damage to stay above water. It's always great to see the level rise among us all and this weekend was a great example.

    We played a tournament, no cash involved just honor this time /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    Results:
    1. NGKrush (Jeff, Blaze) - 5 wins
    2. Krye (Goh) - 4 wins
    3. Mike le Roi (Wolf) - 3 wins (won from both vort and ake)
    4. Vortigar (Brad) - 3 wins (won from ake)
    5. Akebueno (Shun) - 3 wins
    6. Spoon (Aoi) - 2 Wins
    7. Sofiane (Jacky, Vanessa) - 1 Win

    Very surpising results where Krye taking 2nd place, it was his first meeting, so i hope for you that it's not just beginners luck and it's a good omen for the future krye /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

    @Ake:
    Every meeting we have I hope you would and play like you did that one time owning us all with Shun: all the trips, cancels, throws, I never really seen you play that way again though.
    It was great to see you pick up all these new tricky characters so quicky though, you had some great tricks up your sleeves already that you showed me with all of them but to be honest i was left with a feeling what would've happened if you had put all that time into shun. it feels a bit as if you have lost your confidence to attack, to pressure with him. But hey, you're getting some nice results in the tournament and in casuals too, so it's probably only my opinion. I think you really have to potential to play this character to stylish, like a ballerina dancer nearly as smooth and graceful and i hope to see this back in the future sometime. great games though, it's not really a negative comment on your game or anything, you play really good, it's just that you really impressed me style wise that weekend and since then you have gone back to playing "normally". i hope you understand what i mean..

    @Spoon:
    Saw some great casuals you played over the weekend this time and you had some surpises during the tournament as well. you are playing a lot more stable everytime. I was really enthusiastic about the session you played vs ake where i asked you not to use throws, it was great, you where flowing from one move into another, attempting the hit throw, evading attacks from the evadeoption in yingyang, sidesteps, punishment. it was really great to see because it seemed you weren't playing on any auto-pilot, you seemed really active, seeing the moments you had advantage and really thinking about it, looking at what the opponant was going to do and then play into it. your damage output increased greatly during those matches and at times you would be behind with only 10% lifebar and instead of backdashing 20times and hoping on getting some poke or throw in you pressed ake to get him to 10% too and even win the round many times. you surprised me a lot during that session and it was great to watch and be surprised at what aoi can actually do. i hope you felt that connection too and you can bring it back to your game, bring some more beauty and inventiveness into your, what should be a beautiful, aoi game.

    @Vortigar:
    We had some very exciting casual matches between blaze and brad, i was impressed with your lion too, it was nice to see, maybe a potential second character(i don't know where your others are going), he seems very fun to figure out and i think you can get a lot out of him. no further comments and i guess thats a good thing as i usually have some for you /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    @Krye:
    Hey krye, it was cool you could finally make it to the meeting and it was nice to hear you had a nice time. you did surpisingly well during the tournament but don't think you'll have it as easy the next time. you miss a bit of confidence in your game and i guess you know that already because you backdash so much, at some times you really had some nice attacking streaks and i think you surprised some people with gohs damage potential out of certain attacks. also your sabaki use was very good, it seems your doa experice has given you an iron shield to handle being pressured so much and i think this usage showed that very well. great stuff. (don't forget that lows in vf aren't really usefull as pressuring tools, most give disadvantage on hit, so try to focus more on a throw/mid game for real pressuring, you did it well sometimes, but seemed to forget at other points in a game, that's why i mention it).

    @Sof:
    Too bad about the tournament, we all know you can do better, but it wasn't meant to be, we talked about it already sunday evening and i really think you need a character and stick by it though, through thick and thin. i mean, you know how to play with jack and vanessa, but you don't have as much experience as with akira, so i think you would've racked up a lot more wins with him.
    i hope you find your character though and even more so that you stick with him. i don't have any other further comments about your game, our blaze vanessa matches after the tournamant, you played stable in those and they where a lot of fun, try to practise a bit more(it does show that you don’t as much as first) and don’t forget that if you are getting a little frustrated from what you call mashing, you should just take a step back and re enter the situation fresh.

    @Mike le Roi:
    Saw some impressive akira work and a little lau and i'm looking forward to your progress for the next meeting, i think you should really set your aims at winning the next tournament and i know you can if you put your mind to it. we had some nice games on the 360 version and it was hard to play against you, i chose blaze vs you in the tournament because you know less about him and how i play him, i think that is the only reason i won in the end.

    Thanks again everyone, looking forward to playing you guys again soon!

    as reply to spoons meeting: that's great, you have a great place to hold a meeting, nice and spacey! looking forward to it, could you tell us what setups you have, maybe i can bring my vga cable to we can connect 2 xboxes on monitors and ps3s on the tvs (is it possible to play through hdmi with a ps3?).
