On that note, Martin Marrienetta, the guy that helped design the Model 2 arcade board(VF2) made a prototype Saturn that was basically a shrunken version of Model 2. It wouldve blow the Playstation out of the water, it was done the same time as the current Saturn, but SEGA had a sweet deal with hitachi, so they used that version, with Hitachi's SH2 chips and we got the parallel processor mess that the Saturn was. Some exec got kickbacks from Hitachi, fattened his pockets while the company as a whole failed and started it's green mile walk right out of the hardware business.

But yeah he's right Sega can be dense. But they are kind of idiot-savantes: they created VF after all.

By the way I dropped SEGA the request note, I asked for SHENMUE 3 also while I was at it.

Bullshit.

It was SGi that had a cool 3D machine ready to go for Sega anfd which was ditched as not Japanese enough and too expensive(throwing in the second processor in the Saturn ultimatly made it more expensive then the SGi proposal btw).

SGi went on to shop its wares to Nintendo then instead and Nintendo(albeit after neutering the hardware badly to make it cheaper) released it as the N64

VF5R could be a downloadable upgrade on the 360, $20 to $30. But, let's say you never purchased VF5 in the first place for the 360, well then Sega could either make VF5 on the 360 cheaper and put up signs saying "download the upgrade for discount" or whatever, or put 5R as a standalone release as well as a downloadable upgrade.

Unfortunately for the PS3 everyone would need to buy VF5R (not that anyone on this board wouldn't).

Sega just need to market the hell out of the game. VF4:Evo got RAVE reviews but no one heard anything about it outside of the fighting game community.

Just release it for 20$ Look what that did to EVO. Putting it at a competitive price will guarantee SEGA will have more copies out their to the consumers. I'll bet if VF5 was release for 29.99 last year, it would've sold more copies. I still could find BRAND new copies of VF5 for the 360 in New York City(39.99$)Let's see how SEGA will go about this.

Last time we did this with sega US, they closed their opinion box so worst case scenario we can express our frustration about not having the game by giving them a hard time. If you dont know any japanese, dont worry. Simply write it in english and be sure to put lots of 'vf5r ps3 xbox' etc. That much english, anyone at sega JP can understand.
