HEY! I'm TheEthnicMixup! I'm from the South East Coast of America and I'm mad excited to be a part of the community! I've played VF5 off and on since I was in 5th grade. Only playing by button mashing but having fun regardless. My FG background is really just Tekken 7. Ive always loved this game and I can't wait to dive deeper in the tech tunnels. I main Pai Chan as of right now and I play on Steam and PS5. Those and my discord are all under the same name as this. I HOPE TO SEE YALL AT EVO!! WOOOO

    Hi everyone!

I played Virtua Fighter 2 as a kid in the 2000s and it's one of my favourite fighting games. It led me to being a huge fan of fighting games! I love Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Tekken, Guilty Gear etc etc. Lots of them!

Hope to meet some like-minded fun players here :)

Hi everyone I hope you're all good.

I wanted to introduce myself as a new member of this esteemed group.

I admire the dedication put into this website, the knowledge here is incredible.

Anyway I'm StilleMonnik I'm based in Manchester, who plays fighting games casually.

However with the release of VF5 Revo I have the need to get better. I've been told this is the place to help me improve my game, so here I am.

    Be patient with me.

    Hi everyone!!!

I'm Bear, and I have a lot of experience in a handful of different fighters (mostly Honda/Hugo in SF and King/Kuma in Tekken) but I've never fallen in love with one so quickly as I have VF. A member of my local FGC turned me onto the beta when it was open and I was hooked, I'd never tried VF before but it was exactly what I was after in a fighting game, and here we are.

I've never been competitively good at a fighter before - always in that "too good for the average friend, not good enough for bracket" space - but for VF I'd like to change that.

Taka main, here to learn as best I can, let's hit the ground running

    Long time Tekken player though.
Having a har time understanding this game.
What are the punishers? What are the launchers?
Where can I find this info in a clear and concise way for each character?

    Welcome.

You can look at the combo section (https://virtuafighter.com/combos/) for launchers. For REVO/ 2.0 combos, they are getting added atm. But you can look at FS combo lists.

You can use the command lists with the sortable columns (https://virtuafighter.com/commands/) to determine what is punishable and not. -10 or higher is magic number you are looking for guarantee punish situations.

If this does not make sense, don't hesitate to ask questions. I suggest sticking to small set of moves and build form there. There are many introductory guides being made. Juicebox, RentalAnimator, RyanHart, and even SEGA's short videos are good primers. Threads with link for all four are in this "New Starter" section

    Heyo, i'm DB.

I competed in tournaments for DOA5 a while back and traveled to events such as ECT, NEC, Defend The North, Winter Brawl etc. (ironically I also played Akira in DOA and played against some of DOA's Japan best players with roughly the same characters) also went to NYC hotspots like Next Level and even been to @VFhayato 's iFixMachine spot when it was a thing (been there roughly I think 2-3 times). He's a great fun guy to be around with that I sorta regretted not getting into VF at the time, course currently trying to fix that and getting involved with the community more ahaha. Because of my interaction with DOA adding the characters, I developed an appreciation soft spot for Virtua Fighter with how much of an impact it did and rooted with 3D fighters as a whole. Technically I had this account years ago in VFDC but never really introduced myself here for a VF focused moment.

My first interaction with VF was actually VF3tb for the Dreamcast many years back which I still have the copy, though I was pretty young and wasn't into anything fighting games at the time. With VF5Revo being a thing and being on PC as my main platform, this was probably the first time I actually sat down and tried VF so I've been playing since the beta trying to learn and ongoing. While I still have much to learn and not putting as much time as I wanted due to IRL responsibilities, I'm genuinely having fun with the game and hoping to get a wonderful fun journey (which the journey has been super fun so far).

Hope to meet more VF community members offline and hope everyone gets a fantastic year.

    Hey all,

While I have played Virtua Fighter 2 a lot when I was younger, I'm pretty new to properly trying to learn the game virtua fighter since revo came out. Glad to be finally getting into it. I'm enjoying it immensely so far and wish I'd gotten into Virtua Fighter proper sooner. I'm a bris, Australia based player and have some tournament experience with fighting games but less with 3d (just a bit of tekken) than 2d.

learning pai chan as my first main and looking forward to the learning journey ahead.

I've been hanging around the Discord for a while so finally made an account here. Been playing VF since vanilla 5, played a bunch of Final Showdown in the 360 days and have now been on REVO after a long time away from VF. REVO is the first VF game I've been trying to play properly and it's certainly been a challenge. Was in the Reading scene years back having grew up there, so played with and took a lot of beatings from Medion before. Have been in one offline and one online bracket so far and am due to play in SaltyEU later today.

Hey, started playing a few weeks ago. I was never a VF player, but it always interested me because I've been a Sega fanboy from birth. I'm grinding it out with Akira despite people telling me to reconsider, and I'm having a great time. I'm always down for games, and I play on Steam.

If Akira motivates you to want to play and improve, he's the right choice.
