If Final Showdown is ported to console, it is a festival. I pray so that you can enjoy FS early.

To stay off topic, about MvC3, Marvel is just doing with Wolverine what Marvel tries to do with every old comic book character:

Create a younger, cooler version to attract younger fans.

The stupid thing is that I think the younger fans like the old characters just the way they are. You don't really see DC do this which I give them props for even though I'm a Marvel fan.

DC does as much to draw a younger crowd as Marvel does.

X-23 is/was a breath of fresh air in the whole Wolverine saga. Everything that came with Origins is mostly kife but there's some decent writing that makes it less kife. but still kife.

Claremont was very good for what he was...his stuff almost holds up but it *is* pretty cliched and....surprise! he never grew as an author. Anyone chase down his awful awful prose? buh-arf.

Loeb sucks. sucks sucks sucks. holy shit balls that guy is a 11 year old boner hiding in the body of a deviant that apparently has photos of someone doing something naughty. yes, people buy his crap but I call those people stupid and move on.

Whedon's run on Astonishing and Grant Morrison's New X-men (I'm reading the omnibus right now actually) are well worth the spend. Excellent characters, pacing and story telling. Morrison does a lot with the characters he has and then Chuck Austen steps in (I think he shares a brain with Loeb) and undoes it all in one fell swoop. clap. clap.

    But VF5 is still here.

Even if FS did come out we'd be right back where we are in 5 months anyway.

I hate the new look...give me my old Marvel characters from the 80s and I will be fine...so I agree...

actually, if you've ever been to japan, you will notice Sega EVERYWHERE in Tokyo. full building posters, drink vending machines, etc.

there's even a big VF5 Akira on a building in Akihabara right now. at least there was a few months ago.

Sega markets more than people think (know).

Never payed attention to DC so you're most likely right. I just never saw say Super Man 2011 starring all new superman. Or Batman...shit actually I'm just uninformed on DC.

Actually I all but stopped paying attention (buying) all comic books about 5 years ago. Marvel got too convoluted for me. I especially hate "retcons" bad guys into good guys. The
deadpool fiasco I guess was necessary but way too wtf.

How about we send a 500 page document full of "fuck you SEGA" to them.

Well, my decision to buy anything Sega in future is tied to whether this game comes out- as it has for the past year.

Too bad there aren't enough VF fans for that to make a real dent in Sega's sales numbers.

Makes me wonder how Sega would respond to a 500-page notification of a boycott.

The Claremont 80s run? Was it cliched during it's time though? I don't know though, I thought his whole 80s X-Men run was magnificent man. Keep in mind, I do read comics every now and then, but I don't read them all the time. I definitely think it stands the test of the time.

Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run was too good, though I had only read the first 14 or so issues, and that was a few years ago. I just remembered it was great, and it reminded me OF the Claremont run from the 80s.
