yeah the tournament sounds like a real good idea, we should have more frequent tourneys to promote players to come together and challenge as when there are no tourneys there are usually only a handful of people around playing on the weekend so hopefully this way more people will come to trocadero and practise more often

Event though I dont play with some of these characters properly.

The incentive is to learn other characters to enter the tourney and not get banged over.

as for a next idea....

I think a straight knockout tournie would be cool, where you have a winners and losers brackets, winners carry on in the winners bracket, and when u lose ur first match, u drop to the losers bracket, only when you lose in the losers bracket do you get knocked out. This gives everyone a second chance, and means they'll get more than one match.

Sorry if anyones mentioned it before, but i havent read 11 pages of this thread yet

nahh man, it aint about playing with x amount of charicters
there should just be a ranking, an then maybe a fun thing after like on sunday!

the idea of set characters may not be appealing

but how about a random character...

everything is the same for each character as far as throw counters, dodges n such

draw characters out of a hat, i know this won't appeal to everyone but its another interesting idea.

I've mentioned this myself as a tourney but no one wanted to do it.

I guess not everone's gonna be proffecient with other characters, the idea of the random character ideas would be to learn more knowledge about other styles of play,
Example when you get to play them next time with your main character you'd know that a certain move puts you at a disadvantage, (Vannessa's gut punch /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif)

Team battles are everyone's favourite I think though /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Already signed up for Absolution 2004 yesterday.

Expecting to see lots of heads turn up for Absolution, I'll try and get some of the Reading lads to drop by.

Thank God VF is on the PS2 trying (Note: I said TRYING) to dance on those versus sticks in Troc made me look like a button basher with all the random punches and kicks that kept coming out.

Arcade would be good, but only if the sticks were new and sorted. At least on ps2 everyone may use their own preferred controller/ stick. My hori fighting stick should be turning up tomorrow. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif Time to take it to the next level!

You are really starting to get on my nerves, why post in an UK thread saying there are no US tourney's, what the hell do u hope to acomplish.
