Anyone who questions American VF skill level should talk to Ryan and Daisuke who have played many of the best just a month ago.

    [/ QUOTE ]

even tho i don't recal anyone doing so, we couldn't know for sure seeing as nobody's gonna be there.. it would be silly to say "hey, they can kick our ass because this guy said so"... and putting that as the bottom line.

personnally i don't really care much about that stuff anyhow, i don't really think UK in general are as competative or self-confident as the impression i get from america (minus ryan ^___^ j/k)... the general pattern in the UK is "diss yourself, compliment your opponents" ... but hey, that's not necessarily good or bad tho right?

besides, i'm not 100% certain on asking dai either seeing as i disagree with his oppinion on bunbunmaru totally /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

anyways im surprised their aint no interest in absolution on the yanks parts, maybe if they held a promise of havin a £50 dvd of it in time for christmas things would of been different!
ohh i asked about the NY thing...
    nice Ts

Mate, perhaps if people on this thread were more courteous to our overseas friends they'd be more willing to sign-up.

Your constant digs only serve to cheapen the tournament and the London scene as a whole.

ohh yes, my "digs" has put off whomever from signing up(yea Jock, thats so realistic!!), maybe the thought of the "digs" in person made them think 2wice, ohh well
its like i say "fur coat, nayh nickers"

LOL...."Jock" - I've never been called that before. And you just keep your "fur coat and nickers" to yourself sassenach, I don't want to know.

Getting back to the tournament, I found your remarks a tad unsympathetic considering how inconvenient this tournament is going to be for non-Londoners.

For starters the Evo singles event is on Thursday the 15th, and the final not until the 17th. This means taking at least two days off work/colledge and hanging around in London if you happen to make the finals. That's off-putting enough for folk living a significant distance from London and I imagine worse for people travelling overseas.

    Lol! Random you joker!

I have to symapthise with the non Londoners, it is bloody expensive to stay in London especially if you have to wait a few days to play, watch the finals /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif
(All I can say is hopefully it will be worth it /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

okay "scotty", i never made nothing bout the dates, just a remark about how the yanks did evo2003 in 3days!
hell id rather it be held in london then luton!!!
i mean london is a really big place, plus with all the scummy tourists here an imagrants here im sure theres cheep hotels to stay at!!!
anyways, if u got complants about the dats why dont u mail who ever!

Heh, all Londoners prefer it be in London, rather than Luton - it ends up in them spending extra cash too! /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm from Luton - but it doesn't matter to me where the tournament is really, just as long as I get to play.

And I think there's a hostel or something near Trocadero thats pretty cheap - suppose peeps will have to go check it out or something.

I was going to attend but the date thing pretty much put me off the idea.

I don't mind the expense so much as having to be there for such a long period it's too impractical for me.

if its a real hinderance (an the dates make it so 2 me!)
you lot should see if it could be on the friday instead of the thurs!
should put the lame games ie t4/sc2/a3 on the thursday or summing!

sc2 is otherwise known as "Random Button Fighter 2". a3 is awesome. please don't mix that up.

and as for "v-ryu" breaking the game.. have you even played it much Mr Hajile? haha. i think you'll see a lot of different characters used at the a3 tourney, it should be interesting!

    but i digress.

yeah i agree, the dates are a bit stupid. i asked ullysis about this in the Questions thread on ullysis.com and he basically said "tough shit". i don't think he has much sympathy for people who are only entering one game, i'm afraid. i'm still not sure why all the finals are on a single day, but.. *shrugs*
it would be cool to have you scottish fellas there too. gah. if only someone lived in a massive mansion and could put up all the visiting VFers for free. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

back in the day, there was a place called "the International House Of Shinjin" it was there specifically for situations like these. Sadly though, such a place no longer exists its been just over a year, and noone has opened their house to any random heads since.

    such a shame
