And you Mates wonder why non of the Yanks ever made a effort to come to the event. LOL

    [/ QUOTE ]

actually, i still wonder. despite the organization, manz got to play manz. and we had fun in that sense while it lasted. it was the absoluteCON that spoiled it all for people who specifically wanted to participate in an international tournament.

an event can generally be setup by anybody. but i think people would have just have enjoyed your visit and that chance to play other people. - something aside from a set organization.

i guess it's a real shame in all areas, depressing that it really creates a bad reputation for the UK now. i mean i actually got to meet some nice people.

I was at london for all the event, and even more for tourism /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif, played a lot cvs2, z3, st and only a little little bit vf4evo.
i have been able to play after the qualification group because A LOT of people were not there the sunday, just so lucky, i know my match was so unexciting to watch ^^ i apologize for inconvenience and will do better next time =))
The tournament organization was pretty bad but i have good time and meet many people(rock howard, theprince, ryan, stalwart, jason etc... ^^)

will train more with shwoking and french_akira /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY.

I agree that the absolution tournament was badly organised. I think it was just a case of lack of resources, staff, equipment and most important of all discipline. I don't see the difficulty in saying the tournament starts at 'x O'clock, late comers do so at your own peril. If you're late you're late. Is that so hard? I know there may be extenuating circumstances for some people but one or two suffering is better than everybody suffering.

Like a few of you have already said, I too enjoyed the event even though I was extremely ill, the VF day was the peak of my FLU LOLOL, I don't know how I came joint 3rd with French Akira. Pity about FA actually lol never got a chance to play for 3rd place. I reckon I would have taken him out though still, hahahahah. Nevertheless he did play well.

It was nice to meet all the new people, putting faces to names is a touch too, Exypher, Ogi and ShwoKing from IRC etc. All the regular crew of course it was fun that we were all together, I thoroughly enjoyed the tunes through the megaphone, LOL thomas the tank engine! That was tings!

Members of Looney Tunes taking 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 5th go to the Fellowship of the TING, yagetme blood.

Fellowship of the TING taking the crown in the team tourney. Well done Jun, Dai, Jason and myself.

Obviously the highlight of it for me was getting a full refund for the tournament plus a bonus 80 quid for being a rudeboy at VF. Yes Maj.

For those of you who did well in the tourny, touch fists with me, blatant. For those of you didn't get anywhere in the tournament....aaaaaahhhhhh GOOOOOOOOOOOAADDer. Better luck next time.

The tournament had its good points and bad points like everything else. Let's just learn from our and other's mistakes.

Ullysis tried and I'm sure he'll want to make it better next time. At least he tried. Nobody forced us to pay £20, but I suppose the answer to that, is I paid based on the rules, schedule and description of the tourney. On this occasion it didn't do what it said on the tin.

Let's get those finals replays up asap please /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Hi all
Sorry I did'n t make any kind of report earlier but work is taking quite a large amount of my time these days ...

I think everybody has summed up what could be said about the event.: mixed bag .

    Pros:
-Meeting some pretty cool dudes especially the looney tunes members
-Having a VF tournament with a an unmatched level of competition in europe
-Meeting and playing against several players from all over Europe

    -Cons:
-DELAYS !!!! Being part of the CTPL crew in France , I took part in a few events as member of the staff, so I know delays are part of an event and that it often can't be helped ,, BUT we always try our best to begin on time and THEN come the delays because tournaments often take more time that we expected. But in this case I don't remember of any tournament beginning on schedule.... The most frustrating part was that sometimes it seemed as if there was no particular reason for the tourney not to start (all TVs ready, on freeplay mode etc ...). I mean, on Sunday we were told to come at 11 am and the tourney actually began after 2:30 pm ...

-The place was kindah dirty but if it was the only way to have the cabinets for 2D games I guess it was worth it, I would have had a blast if I were a 3.3 player so ...
The equipement is another story .... I think this is truly were we got robbed /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. . Man for a 20£ tournament planned on so many days we HARDLY played on 4 Tvs ... ouch /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    - Me being sick as hell every morning, sniffing all over the place because of my allergies and fighting against headaches all the week end ...

Basicaly it puts me in an awkward position to criticize the organization of the tournament, because I know by experience that it is not easy to run , and moreover because Ullysis seemed really like a nice guy, so I hope those critics will help for future events.

    On the tourney itself:

We had quite a good turnout (on a french VF basis : smirk:) and all groups were tights especially the one I was in with Jun, daisuke, Ino, ManjiMaru and another good Akira player (sorry forgot his name /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif). Was kindah hard for a beginning . /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I managed to place second with some luck, actually the hardest fight I had was to persuade the judges I was 2nd because once the groups were finished my name was nowhere to be found on the list of the qualified ... reason ? They reversed the score of some of my matches like 3-1 to 1-3 for ex ... LOL

Then I got to fight against my mate SHwoking, we were a bit disappointed to have to play against each other just after the groups (especially because it was single elimination whereas it should have been double ...) but its part of the game ...

Then all went super speed for me, my matches were taking place ahead of schedule, not very easy to concentrate with the train departure in my head, but a good way too, keep the rythm and the pressure on nonetheless. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congrats for Zeng for beating me, it was great meeting him in the semis for a Lion vs Lion match ^^. I learned a few tricks from him ^^.
Congrats to Ryan for winning once again ^^.

As the tournament was initially scheduled to finish on saturday , I thought booking a train ticket on 5pm on sunday was no real threat but I guess I was wrong lol
So I could'n't play for third place ... It's a pity because we had some intense games with Hatim on saturday in freeplay. Would have been a good match.

From the benefit of hindsight it was still a great time for me, as I met very nice people and play good VFers. It gave me a lot of things to work on my game which is great ^^.

I would like to excuse if I wasn't very talkative during the event, as I was kindah sick all the week end it was hard for me to play, bear the ambient noise and still managed to speak English with everyone . So sorry if I have been rude to anybody (hope I don't /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

I'll post some more on the players later ^^.

    about my broken dreamcast

random james cheers its all good about my dreamcast broken & that my uk copy of vf4evo got nicked cos it showed the light that i aint gonna bother with bringing things out like that again
the cost to me is no big deal i will get another dreamcast and a vf evo anytime

its just the fact that the proof has shown that other gamers do not respect other peoples stuff thats the bottom line to it
but i only wished i played vf evo 1 year eariler cos that and sc2 was more interesting too watch then seeing the japs get out there
dustpan and brushes out on all the other games and sweeping up all the uk shit underneath them

even the jap old woman riri got her shake and vacs out and wiped out mans in her group

i mean they even got 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 6th 7th 8th 9th on 3rd strike alone even that has to tell the uk players something harsh

like buy new black bin liners
