4-24-2004 Boston Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution result

Raider pretty much summed up everything, so I’ll just post some of my experiences.

Shang: Thanks for everything dude, I would never have been able to travel to this tournament if you hadn’t helped out as much as you did.
You are a really cool person, and so fucking funny. I had a blast meeting and playing against you. You play several characters really well, unfortunately I did not get to fight you as much as I wanted, but I will definitively play against you more next time.

Kungsmurf: A really nice and laid back guy, thanks for meeting us at NY and getting us to Boston. I had a blast playing against you, and your PAD skills are amazing. You have really good knowledge of the game and I had a really cool time talking about VF with you. Thanks again for the hospitality, and hopefully we will meet again at a future gathering. To bad I did not get to say goodbye to you after the tournament, since I wanted to give you my Evo stick. I have no use for it anymore, since I only play in the arcades, and at home I have my Catch stick.

Jerky: A really funny fucker, he had me laughing so hard at times. He owned\pnwned me at VF with his Jacky, and I learned a lot from playing against him. He is a really talented VF player and has really good knowledge of the game. His Lions is also really strong. Thanks for the hospitality and for driving me and raider back and forth. I hope that we will meet again sometime.

Sanjuro&Bigboy: I had so much fun hanging out with you and Bigboy; you play a really nice Akira and Jeff, and Bigboy plays a mean Lau. You guys have a lot of knowledge of the game, and thanks for sharing you Akira strategies and combos with me. You had me cracking up so many times, especially when Dirty Harry was on, and when you told us about the girl sucking a popsicle…lol

Oioron: Nice to meet you, you almost beat me in the tournament with your Lion.
I was lucky to win that game. To bad that was the only match I got to play against you, since I really enjoyed your style of play. Hopefully we will meet again in the future.

SuperG: A really nice guy, and also a twin. Your Jacky is scary, and so different from what I am used to. I had a hard time figuring out what I should do, it felt like you read my every move, and countered with d\f PPP. It was a great learning experience to play against you. Hopefully your brother will join us in the next gathering.

Cruzlink: Super nice guy, he treats strangers like his best friends, or that’s what I felt like. A really cool dude to talk to and hang out with and his Shun were crazy. Definitively the best Shun I have played along with Siyko. I had a lot of trouble figuring him out. I am looking forward to seeing him at the next gathering.
Watch out so you don’t get busted for downloading shit from the net.

Raziel&Hayato: A pleasure to meet and play you guys had a fun time talking with you at the dinner and stuff. Like Raider said, with a little more experience you guys will kick my ass. I am looking forward to seeing you again.

IronJunkie: Really nice Goh, very though to play against. But stop doing his low punch cutter 3 times in a row man…lol. Was a blast meeting you, and hanging out. Thanks for driving us to the hotel after the tournament. Would be cool to meet you in Shanghai, you would definitively kick some ass in the arcades.

Dobi: Congratulations on forth place dude, which was well deserved. You kicked my ass in the tournament and that was well deserved. Your Lion was just to fast for me, and you have very good yomi. Reading me like an open book. It was a blast getting to know you, and hopefully we will meet in China.

LIanfair\Kbcat: Nice meeting you guys, I did not get to play you as much as I wanted, nearly nothing. But you kicked my ass the few games that we got to play. It was a pleasure to meet you and hopefully we can play more in the future. I’ll say hi to Jo Shun for you guys if I see him. Hope to see both of you in a future gathering.

Myke: Nice to meet you, your VF skills are amazing and you have tremendous knowledge of the game. You knocked me out of the tournament, I tried my best but I did not stand a chance. Was nice talking to you at the dinner, and cool to hear that you are an Arsenal fan. At least the won the Premier League!

Siyko: Nice Shun man, so hard to play against. It was nearly impossible to read your game, whenever I thought I had figured you out, you outsmarted me with something new.
Hope to see you again in a future gathering, and I am looking forward to see how strong your Shun is then.

Hyun: Had some great matches against you, very difficult to play against you Jeff and Lau. You had very strong defense and good offense. Thanks for organizing at the tournament, but also at the hotels on Saturday and Sunday. I am looking forward to meeting you again.

Vith_Dos: Strong Akira and Aoi player, it was strange thinking that you played on a pad, when I watched you play. The crowd was going wild when you played Shang, really nice stuff.

Ghetto-Shun: Super nice guy, could not believe you had been in Norway. Some of the guys I talked to did not even know where Norway is…lol. Your Vanessa is so strong, I tried my best getting through your defense, but it was useless. I had a great time hanging out with you, to bad you could not stay on Thursday evening, but we’ll play more next time. Congratulations on your win!

Konjou Akira: Your Akira is fucking nasty, really good. Thanks for sharing all your tactics and techniques with me. I learned a lot about VF and Akira while talking and playing against you. Our death-match was really fun, I did not really stand a chance, but I learned a lot from the experience. Wish I could have played you more, but there was just too little time. Again, it was a pleasure meeting and playing against you.

CrewTW: You Lau was badass, you pwned me so hard. I was just sitting there thinking what the fuck is happening. You where so fast, I did not even have the time to react before I was dead. Thanks again for inviting us to your apartment, I had a great time hanging out with you, and I am looking forward to playing you again.

Kazu: Just like CrewTW, your Lau was just to fast and skillful for me to keep up.
I had a blast playing against you, and I learned a lot from the experience. You are like all the NYC VF’ers a really nice guy, and maybe we will meet in Japan this summer.

AdamYUKI: Super nice guy, thanks for all the help you gave me before I came to NY, with hotel reservations and everything. Your VF skills are amazing, and your Jeff is so fucking good. You pwned me so hard it was scary, but I had a great time playing and hanging out with you. Thanks to all of you for buying me and Raider dinner.
I am already looking forward to meet up with all of you again and play VF.

Okay, that’s it. I hope I remembered everybody.
I had an excellent time in USA, and it was a great experience for me. I learned a lot about my own game and how to improve. And I am already looking forwad to meeting all of you again, and also other US players that did not go to this event.
