Yes it's because the backward compatibility of VF5FS. But SEGA made awful decisions with Virtua Fighter, and still today ... VF5FS in 2012...

I must agree, some moves have been removed. I forgot about that. But still to me FS/US is better and a lot more modern overall.
I've never really liked VF5 vanilla, it feels like a beta of VF5FS/US. VF5FS/US gameplay reminds me a lot more about VF4 EVO than VF5 vanilla.

Tekken 7 has no offline (it's very bad) lol but at least his online didn't force you to play unplayable connections from all around the world.
