Not that winning ALWAYS matters, but in a competitive 1v1 setting, even in casuals, there comes a point when you have to be like "Oh, i'm down by 5 games? All right I'm gonna wreck this guy now" Win-loss scores are always a good evaluation of your own skill vs another.
That's why when I saw the dominate wins he had over you I was surprised because you DID get better over the last year and he's barely, if at all touched the game while you've been playing often. So, that's why it came as a shock to me.
You're still a good player in my book and there's always going to be someone better, but please don't let that man beat you like that again lol. :P
I apologize for getting a bit defensive against you guys in the stream chat and I appreciate the comments and the compliments. Not to mention I really appreciate when you all check out my stream, so thank you for that too.
The score was pretty bad for me at that point, though, that honestly is typical of what happens everytime I fight Shiny since '09. I did want to say tho that, while yes, I was definitely trying to win, that wasnt my only focus at that point.
Since it was casuals at the end of the day, and rare offline casuals at that, I also used those matches as opportunities to adjust my playstyle and try stuff out. I was experimenting alot more than I should have been (which was working very well in the first 5 or so matches), and the thing about experiments is you get alot of stuff wrong.
So that being said, yeah, its not like it was a tournament or a RAW ft10 or something. Brent, even out of practice, is experienced and skilled enough to be more than capable of beating me. But the same goes vice-versa as well....after that break, where we talked to you guys in chat, I went on like a 6-7 game streak, so I can keep up with him at least too.
