    A few days ago I tweeted the following:



    As you can see, I'm working on software that can automatically detect VF matches within archive footage, tracking the characters used and start/end times (and duration) of each match.

    This is still a work in progress, but below is the result from processing the recent Tokyo Bay Area Cup Vol.11. Note that some short matches are either versus the CPU which are then interrupted by a challenger, or the camera feed switched over to a match in progress. I figure I might try to crowd-source some QA testing, so If you spot any errors with the indexing below, please let me know!

    I have some ideas on how it will run in its final form, and while via command line may or may not be one of those forms, it will definitely be parameter/argument driven. So don't mind the code for now with its hard-coded values as it's still very much in the prototyping stage.

    Soon as I saw Myke was doing this I was so hyped up. The pain of looking for that one or two eileen matches that last for maybe 2 minutes if even that long was a hard path. I can't wait to find all those eileen videos that I've missed due to the terrible indexing of the 6 hour long jp streamed videos.

    At some point if you want to do some sort of naming system, I'm happy to contribute names.
    Similar to Guilty Gear, where you can watch matches according to character or player.

    Myke, this is... unbeliavable.
    Will it be possible to have this as "open source" to work with other FGs as well? If yes, I am in to support the developtment or to pay the licence, if cost is reasonable :)
    EDIT: I will look into this even when not open for other Fgs, as this is awesome

    Finally!

    Up until now, to find the Vanessa matches that interest me within these long unedited video streams, my method has been to leave the video playing in the background until I hear Vanessa's voice... which resulted in my alt-tabbing into Sarah matches a lot :meh:

    Your magic allowed me to skip directly to the 3 vanessa sets (which were located as per the list, that much I can confirm). So thank you, your software is already delivering the goods and can only get better (y)

    The match actually starts at 1:08:50 ish. Before that there's a jacky vs Lion(cpu) match. I guess it was so short that the programm put those data in the same slot?

    edit: I forgot to mention that there was a cut in the videofeed, that's probably the issue.

    I think you found a bug - thanks! :)

    The reason this occurs is because of two things: the Jacky vs (CPU) Lion match instantly switched to another match and that other match happened to also feature Jacky in the 1P slot (damn Jacky's everywhere!) I'll get working on a fix.

    Bug fixed. After re-running the indexer it finds the Jacky vs Lion match at 1:08:36 which then switches over to Jacky vs Wolf. It also found another, similar occurrence of Taka vs Brad at 1:52:51 which (very quickly) switches over to a Taka vs Jeffry match.
