Throw setups for characters basic and specific

Yo, this is DancingFighterG. I think one of the biggest things to breaking throws is of course the setup for it. I know throw setups for my characters but what some throw setups for the VF5 cast. I think this will help with beginner VF players like myself get better on antcipating throw breaks.

Brad throw setups:

P,6P, Throw
Phase Turn, Throw
CD (crouch dash), throw
4P, K, throw
Ducking, throw or DD, throw

Shun:

Don't know any really. I just throw when it feels good

 

All characters:

For Oki. If you think they'll get up after TR/QR with no attack go for a throw. If they crouch and you have low throws, use that.

After an attack cancel.

Well, I know from previous experience in fighting gmaes that one the best ways to mixup a throw setup is during frame advantage. what are those moves for characters that people should look out for that for instance have advantage on block and is used to setup throws?

 

I'm totally serious.

 

There are EXTREMELY few attacks in VF that give you advantage frames on block, unless they're of the block-stagger variety. Typically, you get the frame advantage throw/strike guessing games after your attacks land. Try throwing after a jab counter-hits, for instance, or after a low punch (see Sebo's imba Jeff strat above). Stopping in the middle of strings and throwing instead can work well too.

Yo, this is DancingFighterG. catharsis, I'm more looking for a list of specific attacks that characters have that are used for throw setups. Looking to better my defense against characters so I least know if I a particular move I should ready a throw break.

 

First and foremost, do you know all of your chars throw counterable attacks...that is your start point. Learn that first as those are situations that are more frequent/consistent. Breaking on reaction is a whole different element that may take years or more (not sure how familiar you are with the game).

Learn your throw counterable attacks and learn to break after those. Also, learn to break after 2P.

This one really works (especially with 10-framers), /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is +2 on block

Yo, this is DancingFighterG. Ok, after doing some investigation last night I see what people are talking about when it comes couterable attacks with characters. The cool thing is that computer kinda tells you them for example with brad's 66K the computer almost always throws. I'm really really trying to get to the point where I can buffer in two throws before a move and after a move is done. Hard as hell and with not playing with people all time I don't know I'm doing right. Need to get my friend to help me with this.

I tend to get a lot of side-throws when using Offensive Move and attempting to buffer throw escapes in there. I think that it's a holdover from VF4:Evo.
