Okay. He went to Japan yesterday with his brother moonsuk, NakoJin and YoungDae.
His gang arrived at Sapporo and played games at Hurapara2(? <- arcade name).
Until so far, he hasn't lost a game.
Against one guy, he won all 3 matches as exellent with his Lei.
Tomorrow, he will compete at 100 kumite.

anyone curious how he got invited to Japan?
    Okay, here it goes.
The emperor Aoi who visited Korea and had a chance to fight ShinZ invited him to the small tournamant the emperor Aoi is going to hold.
Only ShinZ got the invitation, so the other three Koreans had to pay their trip to Japan themselves ^_^

Anyway, they will stay in Japan for 10 days.

    I hope they do well...

thx <font color=red>AkiraWannaBe</font color=red> NakoJin and YoungDae are they members of his club or others( MVP,NoMecry, etc)? hakoden (snowball) who play a Akira quite well is seen using Lei-Fei in latest clips at <font color=blue>No Mercy</font color=blue> posted 4/7/02. Amazing to me is the fact that <font color=white>ShinZ </font color=white> has allowed clips of his Lei-Fei to be posted for all to study(!?!) Also there are <font color=green>xaxak</font color=green> and <font color=yellow>MetalButter</font color=yellow> playing Lion. Pai, Akira and Wolf are also represented. ShinZ's club displays their vids in a W95 compatible format ( thx) Unfortunately, No Mercy and MVP have changed to an W98 only format.;>(

no direct link available. go to: <a target="_blank" href=http://www.thenomercy.wo.to/>http://www.thenomercy.wo.to/</a> then look at toolbar at top right. Click on TeamBattle, J. Then click on second link. The rest is easy /versus/images/icons/wink.gif( in English). hakoden (<font color=white> snowball</font color=white>) plays a good Lei. Older clips of snowbal aka hakoden playing Akira found at <font color=blue>FeixaQ</font color=blue>'s site and <font color=green>CreeD</font color=green>'s ftp too. You will find MetalButter, one of the best users of mantis catch throw options {imho}( Catch Throw->d->df+P,P!!)etc. is also there with <font color=red>xaxak</font color=red> whose usage of 214P (Meteor Punch) d,db,b+P is also well represented. edit note: when you do search for info on vanessa lewis you get VFDC and FeixaQ. Search for Lion and you get VFDC, VP <font color=black>and The Shoalin Black Virtua Mantis</font color=black> Institute .

""You will find MetalButter, one of the best users of mantis catch throw options""

aye, u're quite right in ur assessment... I dunno abt being 'one of the best'...but it's the very first thing that caught my eye when I first saw his lion game play.

I just kept saying to myself ' hmm that's smart!'.

I doubt Kyasao or Chibita will be heading to Hokkaido... a bit far for video games. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

I've given up on going to Sega Hi-Tech, where Kyasao plays. They're just too damn good there. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Well, knowing what I know of Shinz and his crew, they will try and find the best competition if they have the means... If they're in Japan 10 days, they most likely have the time to make a side trip to Tokyo... this is really exciting news. Thanks for the heads up AKWannaBe! =)

    100 kumite result.
character: akira win: 81 lose: 19

CYC said ShinZ had trouble with Ver.C.(there is not Ver.C in Korea. There is Only Ver.A & B in Korea.)
CYC said there was many High-level gamer's challenge.

This is the link where CYC posts.

    My two cents:
Last time I remember hearing about 100-men kumite was back in VF2 days and early VF3 days. (100-men kumite is a little bit of misnomer since they don't always have 100 opponents, sometimes giving people multiple opportunity to challenge.)

Anyway, I think this record (81:19) is not exceptional but similar to what the famous Japanese players had in those days. I didn't expect ShinZ to wipe the floor, but I expected him to do as well as the famous Japanese players. That seems to be what he is doing now. And he might improve more by the time he gets to Tokyo.

Direct quote from CYC (in Japanese) (He almost sounds like a fanboy himself. He says if it was "normal/usual" AK would have gotten 90% win rate.)

thx Hyun. 77% wins against "high level players" is statisically significant. Very positive. I can't wait to see the battles posted! Watching <font color=white>ShinZ</font color=white> play Vanessa has helped me to improve my game play and enjoyment.

    "ÂÂ㋉ŽÒ˜AÆ’RÆ’Cƒ“‚Å"

    I think that is the key here ^^;
I believe most of the kumite of other famous japanese players restrict each challenger to play only once at a time, then they have to fall back in line (usually a 50+ crowd)

Okay, so what does that phrase mean? (continuous coin?) that the expert players kept playing again instead of going back in line?

IIRC, Yes;it is considered a rather impolite behavior, usually occurs when people get slightly annoyed after losing ^^; . For some reasons most players think their losing possibility goes up if playing the same player consectively.
