Removing Wolf's Old Man Dunce Item

I got Wolf's dunce item (Old man mask, not the clown)and am having trouble removing it. According to the FAQ I should throw an enemy more than the number of rounds in a match but that doesn't seem to work. Any input??

I think that might be a typo
I think that you probably have do exactly what you do get it to your opponent to remove it
It is the dandy daddy, not old man mask

 

You also have to win the match, in addition to throwing the opponent. Use the versus mode, it's the easiest way.
