There is a detailed Lei Dojo that you can find by clicking on Lei on the left column of the main page, then scrolling down to his documents. Read the dojo for hints. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
dude, lunatic!~ VFDC homepage > Lei > Lei Dojo <a target="_blank" href=http://virtuafighter.com/view.php?section=vf4&chara=lei&file=ken_lei_introduction.html>http://virtuafighter.com/view.php?section=vf4&chara=lei&file=ken_lei_introduction.html</a>
Read the general FAQ first to learn the game's system, then go to the Lei Fei dojo to learn specifics about Lei. Click on Virtua Fighter 4 on the left side of this site's home page and then scroll down to see the link to the general FAQ. After you read the Lei Fei dojo, you should then try searching the site for "Lei" to dig up any relevent threads on 9-dot.
Best way to learn w/ LeiFei -- never finish a single combo unless your oponent is in the air -- if you do, he's incredibly easy to anticipate. On a similar note, switch your positions (all three buttons & either up, down, or back/down) and THEN attack -- otherwise your opponent is expecting it. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
First of all you need to learn the basic flow of the stances and how to enter as well as exiting them. Knowing how to fight without stance is important as well. IN and DM stance should be the first two stances you learn. [IN]d+K gives you a a semi-guaranteed combo. These sequences alone should win you many many games at first: PP, [IN]d+K, K - d+PKG, [DM]K, d+PKG, [DM]P, PK - uf+K+G, df+K df,df+P,P - PP - [IN]K+G So we have a mid and a low attack. In the two strings above.. people that have ate this combo will be used to defend against it. Now you have to create the chances and use play mind games if this is the case. If you're standing in front of them in [IN] stance what can you do? Also what can they do? You can: d+K : for a low stagger float combo.. (this is probably the best low kick in the game) K+G : for a mid stagger move for semi-guaranteed "uf+K+G" flop combo followup. do nothing : to punish a low punch or any punch retaliation. This is important as aggression and prediction is important for winning the mind game. If you stop the opponent from punching then you have limited their arsenal of moves. Guard cancel the stance: cancel out of the stance and do anything ie -Throw -low Punch ...etc -uf+K+G.. flop combo Now what can they do? Dodge attack vs Lei just dodge, dodge, dodge, and dodge him. -most dodge attacks are throw counterable. As a Lei player you can win the mind game by guard cancel out of stance and throw counter. Furthermore if they start throw cancelling then you can wait for the throw escape to whif and do "QCF+PK" or "b,f+PK" for head crumble followup. -if the opponents dodge attack is a punch based attack.. just stay put and use the [IN] auto reversal. Do this a few times and play mind tricks. Otherwise they can block your attack and counter attack you.. but you had your chance to pick 3-5 choices vs their 1-2 choices. If you consistently lose this gamble then you've got a lot to learn. On a side note: Lei Dance Fake: u+PKG, b+PKG, u+PKG The first is [IN] then [DM] then [IN]... The b+PKG in this case looks very similar to "[IN]d+K" so add this to your arsenal if your opponent thinks they've got you figured out. Then we've got the DM, EV and TG stance..... [IN] is a gambling stance... the odds are usually in your favour. Dancing is important., but first you need to know what you're doing first.
