I am new to Goh and went through the training. Iwas fighting recently and Goh did a reversal or at least i think it was a reversal. He grabbed the other fighters arm and punched him under the arm pit. Is this a move that was not in the training? How is it performed? Or am I just going crazy?
it sounds like you're talking about his 270 throw. It's not a reversal just an ordinary high throw. Goh doesn't have any reversals for anything.
It sounds more like his + sabaki which will deflect middle punch and elbow attacks. Check Goh's command list for more information.
here: make the D-pad or joystick [wtv ur using] go from UP smoothly all the way to forward THE LONG WAY and then press P+G and its gotta be fast so its like this: + or it can be done like this: + notice how each one is 270 degrees of rotation, hope this helps, try it out it has pretty nice animation and a heep of damage to go along wit it
Re: Hey... actually from what he described in the very first post.. that IS goh's 270 throw animation. He grabs the opponent's arm and throws them down to punch them in the side right under the arm pit. It sort of looks like a reversal animation since he grabs the arm and turns around to pin the opponent down. It is NOT a reversal though, just a normal standing throw. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Re: Hey... Something that makes Goh's 270 throw look like the opponent being grabbed by the arm and punched under the armpit. Must be strong stuff that I'm on eh? Since his 270 looks NOTHING like that right? Oh wait.....
Re: Hey... haha im with Elite, the motion tha was described sounds to me like the 270 throw, a punch under the armpit?? im sure ur expert or wtv enough to noe tha..... rite? /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Re: Hey... I'm not saying it definitely is the 270 throw, the move Myke suggested sounds just as likely. The "what are you smoking?" comment was just stupid though as it could easily be the 270 throw.
Re: Hey... No need for one line responses that don't add anything to the discussion...you wanna chat, go on irc. Anyways, I'll throw my two cents in...logically, it could ONLY be goh's d/f+P+K sabaki... 1) I'm sure he would've come across the 270 in training 2) he could've been describing the animation for 270 but why would he leave out the "goh spins opponent around, throws them to the ground and then punches them" part 3) what's more likely...doing a 270+P+G and thinking it's a reversal or doing a d/f+P+K and thinking it's a reversal...
Re: Hey... As I said, the sabaki is likely to be the answer, I forgot about it when I suggested the 270 in the first place. But the 270 is not as dissimilar as "what are you smoking?" boy tried to make out. Or maybe he just wanted to agree with Myke for the sake of agreeing with Myke. Anyway you're right, it's probably the sabaki.
Re: Hey... hmm.. point taken, buh i dont think he HAS gone through command training yet, either tha or he doesnt remember cuz in one of his responses he asked how to do a 270 throw. so yeh i tried the + thing and maybe tha was wut he did... and if i can take back my wasted post of one line i would sorry aba tha lastly, once again im wit Elite, there was no point, in making tha useless comment "wut r u smoking" if ur gonna agree with myke then do it, no point in going: all u other guys who dont agree wit myke r stupid u guys r wrong hes right.. WTHeck theres a million ways to say it nicely ok, and the way u said it wasnt one of them... so next time, say it nicely pleaz thx in advance
I know what move he's talking about. It's true it's the sabaki move and not the 270 throw. Goh kneels down when you enter the + than he'll parry the low punch attack and punch the opponent just under the armpit. Looks very much like a reversal, though the timing seems pretty tough to hit it
Really? and elbow sabaki? That may actually help more with successfully pulling off the move a lot more. Many thanks
