So for pai to have a reasonable mixup instead of going for the guaranteed damage, she'd need 2 options that did 78+ dmg each. I can't think of any. Does everyone just go for the guaranteed damage, and only try something else risky if the little bit extra is necessary to win a round, or ?
You have two other options too : - Back throw combo - f+P on backstagger f+P is pretty safe but the back throw combo is not. That is all i can think of. I saw back throw attempts on japanese players vids sometimes, it is worth the risk once in a while.
Back throw is a good thing to try once in a while cause your opponent might just hold G thinking that you will go for the guaranteed dmg. Once they figure out to hold down afterwards, you can go for back stagger.
I sometimes go for a d/f K, or low throw if the opponent tends to crouch. In VF4 Evo I even tried K few times, and it usually hit on counter, but that was only against low level players.
