Battle Arena Melbourne 2025 Write Up

I haven't posted on VFDC for a long time...great to be back.
I recently got back from Battle Arena Melbourne (BAM) 15, Australia's largest fighting game event. We had a VF tournament there. You can watch the VOD via http://www.twitch.tv/locallegacyL2

I'm waiting for my train to arrive at the airport in Sydney. Good time for a BAM write up and some shout outs. Just some highlights for me: if I didn't mention I'm sorry and I'll shout you out next time
Big shout out to the Victorian Virtua Fighter community for coming out to play myself and Myke. So nice to meet everyone in person.
Particular mention to Bezerk for his 15th year of a successful tournament and his tireless dedication to the FGC. Hope you can make OHN so we can return the hospitality.

I had a great time. I was disappointed by my performance but I think we always are Gives me a great desire to continue to improve.

Myke: It was great to see you out at an offline event. We're all very slowly catching up.

AlexMD: I was so impressed by your play even with your ring rust. I always admired your striving for perfection. Hope you can make it out to more locals and help us all to improve as well as really starting to challenge Mike

C-d: Great performance and big effort to get to 2nd place. If you are getting more tournament practice you will be a big danger for OHN and for our region in general.

Mac: Great to see you in person again. Can't wait for you to join us online! By then you will be teaching me Taka and I'll have to take your notes.

Krysz: It was such a shame you couldn't show your best self in tournament but you're improving so quick we'll be struggling to catch up to you shortly

Barnsey and King Beryl: So good to meet you in person. Barnsey I love your positive attitude and King Beryl I love your sassy attitude. King you know what you must do...join the dark side

Youssef and Chad and Taj Garou: Mad to just hang with you guys and looking forward to OHN

I'm really optimistic about the state of the game. This is just the beginning of Sega's support: imagine what it will look like in 5 years!! It was a shame that this year BAM was not on any world tour, but hopefully in future years Sega will see that the Australian community has been supporting the game as best we can for a long time.

PS. Elson, offline is different and you can't change my mind. The nerves, the pressure, the hype, the cramped atmosphere which smells like mouth juice...nothing compares!
