Why aren't we all over this, Europeans!?

Just checked out the first announcement, and it looks like, amongst others, Fuudo will be there, so that's awesome. Sure, he'll be there for SF, but that doesn't mean we can't kidnap him or something. Maybe Mister can bring some Mafia friends from Sardinia?

Anyway, I'm thinking of going. As in, I just checked airline prices and it's easily affordable to take a plane to Nice (a big city nearby). I've heard a lot of nice stuff about this event, supposedly the atmosphere is good and there's usually a lot of fun stuff going on at the hotels. The weather in South-France is always awesome, so that's nice as well.

This has the potential to be a legendary event for the EU VF scene, so let's make it happen! Combining PS3 and 360 players, we should easily be able to have a 30 to 40 man event!

Let's do this.

 

I can't travel out of Italy with the type of ID card I have, until July. =(

 

Planning to go there with g0d3l and DWR. Probably we are taking with us an xbox 360 and a monitor to setup something in our room ;D

I am starting to be a little worried about this tournament

The November is nearly ending and there is nothing new on official pages since the announcement. I was trying to mail the organizers with questions, but no reply.

I know there is still a lot of time, but I am pretty busy man and I need to plan such large trip as this in advance; yet I still do not know anything except that "it will be"

Well guys, anyway the Tournament is gonna happen. Anybody who has already been there once have any tips about the Hotel? me and my crew (dwr and g0d3l) were thinking to go take a trip with a car and bring our stuff to play (monitor + console + sticks). Is there a hotel where we can setup our stuff without any problem and play with other players?

I need to know if HBXs will be allowed or not. There are other like 4 people from CZ seriously considering to go, but to do that, they need me andy my car. And I will go only if I will be able to play VF on HBX.
If I will come, I will like to know where other VFers will live to share hotel (and TV and PS3/X360 ) with them... Together with some nice, intense offline games

Sounds good. Now the question is what the prices in the hotel are and which hotel it is

I'll make both if possible but cannes come first so i'm focusing on that one for now. Also i asked about vf5fs and this is the answer:

"VF5FS is a main event single game, but we'll add a team tourney if we get enough entries.
There will most likely be a LOT of "salty suite" action for Virtua Fighter (the French community is very active), more on that a bit later ^^ "

So be sure to have some team mate.

@Unicorn i'll ask in the page if anybody could use it's own periferal (but i think yes since at evo a guy used a KEYBOARD, it will be weird to negate the use of the hitbox)

About cannes vs amsterdam... There is now way how I will make both - family, work, 3 weeks in between... impossible for me.

I am also prefering cannes personally, but the HBX being dis/allowed is crucial for me. I love to play on this thingie and if it will be forbidden... Yea, it will make me changing my mind easily.

I can't think of a good reason not to allow hitbox for VF, except maybe that it's easier to do certain defensive techniques/stepping.

As I remember, yeah players can bring their stuffs and play in their rooms without any problem.

"Hitboxes are banned in most (if not all) majors (sorry keyboard warriors...), but yeah most controllers are allowed as long as you don't use outlawed macros (ie. special moves on a button).
The WorldGameCup is a Microsoft sponsored event, so games will be played on 360 at the main venue.
As for the game specific rules they should be up on the website in a few days."
